A little collage for 's [Character] Is... contest. It's the first contest I've ever entered.The character is Tsukino Usagi from Pretty Suited Soldier Sailor Moon (yes, that's the full title) by Naoko Takeuchi. From what I could see, no one else had done a Sailor Moon entry, so I decided to do one myself. She's not portrayed differently in as many fanfics as someone like Kagome or Inuyasha, but she is portrayed as some wild things (sex crazed, a pirate bounty hunter, super model) as well as being turned gay by fanfic authors or dumped by Mamoru and falling for Seiya. Things that wouldn't happen in the series.
So, anyway! My entry!

I Love it.Even when Usagi-chan wohould fall in love in seiya her daughter would never born. In the Manga she marries her boyfriend Mamo-chan and lived Happy ever after. Seiya is a woman and not a boy. She is searching for the Princess along with Taiki and Yaten who also are girls.A nd Usagi had never got feelings for Seiya. She only loves Mamoru and will have futur with him and have Chibiusa.

Like I said in another comment on this picture, she was only pointing out what was and what was not canon. Again, that's the purpose of the comic and the contest it was for. It is a little harsh to hate it too. She only mentioned shipping in 2 panels, not the whole thing. Please, get your facts straight.

the piece itself isn't necessarily bad, but she's homophobic and downright condescending in some of her replies. i only pointed out the shipping because that's pretty much all that she replied to (as far as i can remember? it's been a while since i read through these...) but assuming her attitude towards the shipping things that she pointed out is the same attitude she has towards the other things she pointed out, there's also some slut shaming. as far as pointing out what is and is not canon (which i'm sure everyone already fucking knows if they even cared to know because they've probably read the source material as much as she did) it's fine, but it just seems like she fails to grasp what fandom is for on a basic level.
it's fine if people ship things that aren't canon or if they like things that wouldn't happen in the original! if people only wanted those things, there would be absolutely no need for fandom in the first place! and it's not hurting anyone if people write seiya/usagi fanfic or draw rei/usagi fanart. it's really not that hard to avoid if she, or anyone else, doesn't want to see it.
i understand that it's for a contest, and since i didn't check the contest out at all i can't say if any of the other entries are any better, which i acknowledged. if the contest or even if this particular comic was meant to point out things that the fandom sometimes forgets are canon, or any ooc behavior that people don't acknowledge isn't right, that's totally fine. my problem is pretty much entirely with the comments and her replies. they're homophobic, rude, and sometimes just stupid.

Dude, Faya. Fanfiction is used to get people that didn't get together in canon. Because they liked it more. I'm a SxU fan but I like Mamoru.
Calling them stupid for having different preferences then you is closed minded and ignorant. No one likes reading the same thing and the same pairings over and over again. People find that boring.

Whee! I love you for making this! I love every bit of it. You definitley portrayed how Usagi is and should be...not what other people see her as. I love the part about "She doesn't love Seiya". She loves her as a friend, and as a friend only. Mamoru has been there for her for much longer, and no way can Usagi can see Seiya as more than a friend.
Fans forget that Usagi and Seiya's slight romantic interruption was because of Seiya's resemblance of Mamoru and Usagi's resemblance of Kakyuu. UsagixSeiya is about as true as MotokixUsagi. So there.

I don't really think it was because Seiya resembled Mamoru. I'm pretty sure it was because Usagi felt that the way Seiya held her reminded her of Mamoru. I think it simply meant she felt safe with him. Seiya is a very warm, amiable person (kinda like Usagi 
But, just the way that fanfic-fanart writers/artists portray Seiya irks me. I mean, the way that he went and sacrificed his happiness so Usagi could be happy, the maturity and kindness that he showed with that one simple act, is completely torn away by all of a sudden making him some immature loverboy who can't get over one stinkin' romance and live life. It ruins his character in retrospect.
Another thing that I think is crucial to add in is that Mamoru and Usagi have different facets of themselves. Serenity-Endymion, Sailor Moon-Tuxedo Kamen, and Usagi-Mamoru are each a very crucial part to the two of them. The fact that they can love each other completely and totally for each of these personalities is something unseen and very special. It's something that Seiya and Usagi could never have with one another.

Seiya is wonderful as a person. And he is just as wonderful without Usagi. People need to love him for him, and not for Seiya/Usagi.
Yes! And I'd like to add to that. Usagi and Mamoru don't love each other just because it's their destiny...they love each other because they CHOSE to do so. I hear many fans complaining about Usa/Mamo's forced love or something like that, even though it really isn't. Usagi would have shown signs of not wanting to be with Mamoru, but did she? No. She loved Mamoru for Mamoru. Mamoru loved Usagi for Usagi. I find a lot of anti-Usa/Mamo fans spring up and say that Usagi isn't happy with Mamoru, and that she's happier with Seiya. That's a load of rubbish. -_- If she wasn't completely happy with Mamoru, why would she choose to love him in the first place? I hate it when fans exaggerate things. Ugh.

Seiya is very used and abused as far as pairings go. And looking at his love for Usagi, I think it's sorta meant to contrast the different kinds of love that exist. UsaMamo is requited love, when two people get to be together because they love one another fully. Seiya's love for Usagi is unrequited love, and serves to show the kind of person who will do anything to make the one they love happy, even if it means they could never be together. It's kind of like in Cardcaptor Sakura, where Sakura and Syaoran love each other and end up together, while Tomoyo loves Sakura but is alright with her being with Syaoran, simply because she knows it will make Sakura happy. And Tomoyo, for a ten/twelve-year-old, is extremely mature in that light. It's a very admirable character trait that so many take for granted just because they want their fanon love.
Oh my God. Now this is something I thought over, and I seriously have to say that anyone who says Usagi and Mamoru are "destined" lovers has ignored the whole point of the first season. The two of them, as Serenity and Endymion, fell in love at a time when the two kingdoms were gearing up toward war. If anything, they went against destiny to be together. Their love is something the two have had to work and suffer for over all of time, even when they have their "happy ending". It has not been all love and roses for them (pardon the pun). There are always things getting in the way of their happiness, but they've never given up on each other. And that's what people like them as a couple for. That they're so loyal and loving to one another is what proves they are really worth it as a couple.

Oh, I like the way you portrait Usagi. It well drawn and you did it in that sweet, cute way that fits to Sailor Moon.
I have to admit that I couldn't help but roll my eyes at some comments though. I love MamoruxUsagi, I really do. But I am also one of those who could not help but get into Star Fighter's charm and fall for her with Usagi as pairing as well. That doesn't change the fact that I still like Mamoru and in that moment I find it a sad thing that a lot of SeiyaxUsagi authors find a cheap way out of the 'Usagi-Mamoru-problem' by making Mamoru an ass. It's wrong and fails them as authors. I notice that some here dislike 'SeiyaxUsagi' and that is okay. But fanfiction is fiction written from fans for fans. It is a way for fans of any series, character, series to live out their ideas, opinions and wishes and we all should accept that. Fanfiction is also a challenge for authors to try out situations that are supposed to be impossible in the series and portrait them in a way that does not make the characters acting out of character. That is the beauty of fanfics. Of course not everyone succeeds in that, but some love and others hate those stories. We should just be accepting and if we stumble upon a story and pairing that doesn't fit our personal liking we should simply accept that others do love it and leave without reading or commenting. This would be the best way to ensure that fans of different things will not end up killing each other. *sighs* Sorry that I ended up rambling here, but I felt the need to add my two cents.

I love this for many reasons. Number 1 Usagi doesn't love Seiya. You heard me get over it folks. Mamoru and Usagi belong together. Number 2 She doesn't love any of the other senshi!!! AMEN! I'm tired of the slash. It's disgusting. Number 3 Usagi is not a sex fiend. I'm tired of people trying to make her sexy when she is protrayed as cute and bubbly!! I freaking love this!

Some other SM Facts:
Her race lives for thousands of years...
She is based on the Greek Goddess Selene and Darien/Mamoru is based on her mythological lover, Endymion... hence the names Serena/Serenity & Prince Endymion...
All the Senshi are referred to using the Greek/English nomenclature in the original Japanese to reinforce the idea that the characters are based on those of Greek Mythology.
A little more: (semi-speculative)
Sailor Uranus is associated w/ the God Uranus who was castrated... leading to the birth of Venus, goddess of love.
Uranus & Neptune are the only lesbian senshi and the inner scouts at one point mistake Uranus for a guy when she first shows up in the series, and... Rei, Usagi, and Minako kind of fight over "him."
I still don't understand why an ice age would "kill the world" and require all the scouts to go into "suspended animation" or something for a thousand years until the "Silver Millinium"... mythology sound... science... not so much...

Yes it always irritated me that everyone liked Seiya over Mamoru. Mamoru was there four 4 seasons prior so dur she ain't leaving him. I can understand her sudden slight crush on him seeing as he was always with her and Mamoru had not been calling her at all(cuz he was slightly dead), but she never actually loved him. The only thing that EVER irritated me about Mamoru was that he sometimes doesn't act like he appreciates Usagi. She is still a child so I can understand some of his reactions to things, but sometimes it bugs me how he gets irritated by her on occasion. But he still loves her and would die for her so I can forgive him, lol. Like this, its cute. ^_^

I think what Usagi had with Seiya was a very strong friendship, but Seiya ended up interpreting it as some sort of romance. They're very alike, and in some instances, I start to believe they've become so close as friends that anything more would totally ruin it for them.
And something that has to be remembered is that Usagi is technically Seiya's first love. Usagi crushed on Motoki but later found her true passion for Mamoru. Who's to say that the same couldn't happen for Seiya?

Thanks...but looking back on this argument, I see that there is a bit I should add to it.
So...the fact that Seiya and Usagi are alike in so many ways (they're both very determined, both want others to be happy, the list goes on and on and on), gives them absolutely no conflict. Other than the whole Seiya is a girl half the time shtick. But even then, Usagi's well-accepting of just about anyone who jumps on the Senshi-bandwagon. That they can agree a little too well takes away something that is natural in real relationships. Honestly, the reason why UsaMamo fans exist is because we liked the desperation, the problems, the conflict that those two had with one another. And on top of that, they compliment one another very well to boot. Usagi's the happy one who sees life in a very positive light, while Mamoru's a hardened young man who has seen the worst of things. When they come together, they help make up for one another's insecurities, which is something I don't really think Seiya and Usagi can do for one another.
Anyhow...I'm more interested in Seiya than either Usagi or Mamoru, but that's Seiya the person, not Seiya the loverboy. He has his own life to be delved into, and frankly, adding Usagi into the equation obstructs from us seeing it.

What kind of puzzles me about her being paired with Seiya or Rei is that the whole point of Sailor Moon is the romance between Usagi and Mamoru. Moreover, though she does wear the pretty sailor suit, how is Sailor Moon's outfit any different from Wonder Woman's which looks like a bathing suit if I may add?
