Well I was supposed to upload this awhile ago but was still modifying/conceptualizing the design for these little guys.
I'll be posting the first, kind-of "trial" batch of these kids within the hour. ^ ^ I'm very excited about them as you can see ahaha

Somnae
( pronounced som-nahy )

Somnae, humanoid dream eaters, tend to wander the world in search of a companion (or more commonly referred to as their Soulmate) who's dreams they may feed off of. This may sound easy enough, given that practically everyone dreams-- but such a misconception troubles many somnae to hear. Like a human's preference of sweet over sour, apples over oranges, a somnae has a preference in the 'types' of dreams they devour. Some may enjoy those who have whimsical, happy dreams while others may vastly prefer those with dark, eerie nightmares that haunt their every slumber. When they are born their eyes slowly develop from a natural, circular pupil to something else which defines the type of dreams they are able to 'devour'.

It is after they have found their Soulmate and made a Pact with them that their dream preference evolves-- they are then only able to stomach the dreams of their Soulmate, and no one else's.

The Pact:
In order to claim a human as their eternal companion, the being that they will eat dreams from forever more, they must conduct a ritual known most commonly among somnae as the Pact.
The Pact is most simply described as sharing their first kiss. A somnae does not kiss others haphazardly, saving their virgin lips for the one that truly captures their appetite and their heart.

Physical Traits:

Eyes: They have a black schlera and uniquely shaped pupils. The most common shape is the "teardrop". The shape of their pupils dictates their dream preference and it is often times viewed as a curse to have anything beyond the norm as it makes it that much more difficult to find a suitable companion.

Rarity: Common
Dream Characteristics: They can devour any sort of dream they wish, having no particular preference and are rather easy to please. However they tend to prefer to avoid the "deeper" dreamers, ones that have strong recurring nightmares or visions.

Inverted Heart
Rarity: Uncommon
Dream Characteristics: These somnae find hopeful dreams as their preference, they often search for those who daydream and seem to be generally content with their lives.

Diamond
Rarity: Uncommon
Dream Characteristics: These somnae prefer those with dreams just a little on the sour side, soulmates who seem dissatisfied with how their lives are going and it is evident in their dreams.

Lovelorn
Rarity: Semi-Rare
Dream Characteristics: ???

Enigma
Rarity: Semi-Rare
Dream Characteristics: ???

Keyhole
Rarity: Rare
Dream Characteristics: ???
Ears & Tails: They grow "dream fluff" in the same way an animal would grow fur. Its color and 'fluffiness' varies from somnae to somnae. Those with longer, fluffier tails are more difficult to come by as they tend to be more 'worldly' than most somnae, devouring dreams from many different individuals either because they haven't found their soulmate yet or they aren't looking for one just yet.

Hair: Their hair is most commonly dual-coloured, the base of their hair colour is most commonly lighter than the top layer of their hair. The rare somnae may have tri-coloured hair which tends to reflect their high class and at the same time reflect their difficulty in finding their soulmate.

Lifespan: Those who haven't found their destined soulmate can live for centuries until they find the right person. Others who have already have their soulmate tend not to live much longer than the one they've chosen. Some speculate it is because they die of starvation while others believe they die of depression from losing the one they loved.
