For Sunday, the last day of the Austrian library week we had a few topics left to chose from. Participating children selected a book from Halldor Laxness, this first and only Literature Nobel laureate from Iceland who died 25 years ago. We also have another of his books, 'Atomstation', but this one has a more complex story which starts with a white horse given by an Icelandic farmer to the king of Denmark (which at the time was the colonial power in Iceland). Maybe that's the reason for the choice, as Kurdish writer Yasar Kemal (who would be 100 this year) also published a book centered around a white horse). The latter we had in our choices for the World Book Day past April.
