Description Javert wasn’t sure his flatmates knew the true evil that was Jean Valjean.

Sure he always acted all kind and good to everyone, but Javert knew better. They were so ignorant of the true evil that this man was that they even invited him over for dinner, and Javert didn’t really know where to hide.

The worst part was that Jareth was making dinner, which was never a good thing, Javert didn’t even know what he was going to make, and from his place in the living room, it smelled suspicious.

Finally, a surprising amount of dishes were served, along with small side dishes, Javert looked at everything, not really knowing what it all was, while Jareth claimed that it was the best of the best in goblin cuisine and he had learnt to make this a good two hundred years ago, so he wasn’t sure if the recipes had changed, but this was how he normally made them.
“You can take anything, but I recommend you take a plate of side dishes because this over here and here is spicy, unless you like spicy food, in which case you can totally dismiss the side dishes.” Jareth said proudly.
“I’m not sure I want to eat any of this...” Javert said, poking something in one of the big bowls with his fork.
“Oh come on, Javert, you’ll never know if it’s good or not if you don’t try it.” Valjean said, serving himself something weird form one of the bowls and not even batting an eyelash, he took a forkful of the dish and tasted it, and then made a small sound of approval. “Oh wow! Monsieur Jareth, this is actually very good! What is this?”
“Chicken liver...” He said nonchalantly, taking a bite himself. “In black mandragora sauce.”
Javert turned distinctly pale.
“That is disgusting.” He said, staring in disgust at Valjean’s plate.
“I was in a prison for 20 years, Javert, EVERYTHING is gourmet to me...”
“You know what is also really good?” Jareth said. “Fairy intestine soup. But it’s so hard to catch fairies to make that...”
The color in Javert’s face went from white to green.
“That sounds delightful!”
“When I manage to make some, I’ll invite you to taste it, you have no idea, nothing can compare. They’re a little sticky to handle, but so delicious...”

Javert stood, fast as lighting, and ran off from the table. Seconds later, the door of the toilet shut, and everyone could hear the inspector throwing up his guts. James and Erik turned to Valjean, who was snickering and taking a small bite from his dish.
“My God, I didn’t know you were capable of such evil...” James commented.
“Oh, you don’t know me.” Valjean smiled.
“There’s actually no such thing as fairy intestine soup, I just knew what you were trying to do.” Jareth said, smiling a malignant smile.
“You are the devil...” Erik said.
“Shut up and eat your chicken liver.”

Where are you guys from? I've never even heard of half these dishes! I'm from America.

I'm from México xD
But none of that exists, methinks. I was going to add snails in their slobber but that would be plain yucky and I think not only Javert would have puked xD

Fun.

But Javert was born in jail, probably lived a big part of his life there too. Also his mother in Roommates canon is a Lethal Chef, who cooks so badly that it makes Mrs. Lovett's trademark "Worst Pies In London" taste good in comparison.

Also chicken liver is tasty. :9 The second tastiest part of the chicken (after chicken heart, pity it's so small).

I was going to add something about the bog of eternal stench included in the food xD
I really can't make it sound as actually yucky as it would have looked u.u And considering the amount of time he's spent eating pretty much normal food, sometimes, when you get unaccustomed to something, it stops looking appealing after a while xD

My country has some recipes involving pigs blood, so I'm not squicked easily by innards. On the other hand I kinda fear that anything cooked by Jareth has potentially glitter in it (or magic with weird side-effects).

Hahahaha Mexico has some very weird looking stuff too. In some parts people tie chicken from their feet from a tree so the blood will go to their head and then cook them in separate parts ._. And some people's favorite part is actually the head xD
Also, some people might eat a lot of bad tasting things, but they might be like me, if it doesn't smell/look good, they don't eat it xD Hence why I don't eat papaya, it smells like vomit...

The tying thing is new to me, but "Waste not." is an age old saying in the poorer parts of the world. So yeah. Some people eat the chicken head here too. And legs, neck, gizzard, etc. there is even a dish named (approximately) "rooster balls soup" which is exactly what it sounds like. I live in Hungary by the way. We also happen to have one of the spiciest cuisine in Europe.

Oh wow O0O
I've never tasted Hungarian food, I wish I could :3 I can take Korean food, I can most certainly take this too xD

The chicken thing isn't really the worst, there's some yucky looking things here.

Probably. Most European food isn't spicy, so being the spiciest probably only means moderately when doing a worldwide comparison.

Here neither... My moms favorite food is a salty gelatinous thing (technically soup) made out of the, well, skin / bone parts of a pig (ears, tail, legs etc.). I find it absolutely disgusting and I normally don't even care how the food looks.

I've heard Thai food is the spiciest in the WORLD, but I've never tried it and I probably never will since they don't sell any here.

Okay, that doesn't sound good x.x We over here have tacos of pretty much anything, and there's cow brains tacos, that's always sounded disgusting to me so I've never tried them x.x

We normally eat things with slices of bread, we are also prone to deep-fried whatever. The local pizza / taco / flat fairly round "bread" variant (called "lángos") is a deep-fried one, not as widespread as those other examples though.
I don't judge brains, I have eaten chicken brains (doesn't taste as anything particular) and I live in the westernmost European country that has mainstream dish involving tripe (stomach, cow mostly).

Either that or as stew.

No, we don't have it as stew, just as some weird broth that sometimes has corn.
It's actually my favorite thing in the world.

The Hungarian most well known dish with tripe is a stew, which is mostly eaten with cooked potatoes (or bread) and is tasty if you ask me.
