Description
I'm fifteen.SO I'm changing up my style.
It's very different than what I normally do, and I even used photoshop to paint it when I always use sai.
So.... yeah! I used a ref, but then I don't know.. I took it in my own direction.
Comments and things are very, VERY appreciated!

A regular artist usually goes up the stairs one step at a time and of course, one day they would reach the pinnacle of their talent, but then I swear I do not know how many steps you skipped.
What I mean to say is, this is massive improvement.
The features are realistic and I like the soft and white feel.
It makes her appear very fragile externally, but her expression suggests that she may have endured much.
The structure of the face is perfect.
My only tip is that you refine the shading.
For instance, the neck (left side) the lines could be more blended so that is does not appear slightly ajar compared to everything else.

It's funny-- I find that when I take a break from art, I experience great improvement; yet when I practice everyday, things move a lot slower.

I really like this and I do have a couple questions, comments and a few points of constructive criticism....

first of all, is this supposed to be victorian themed?
her hair looks very victorian-era styled (and very good as well)
also what brush did you use to do this in photoshop (any specific settings, etc.)?
lastly, is the darker part on her face supposed to be shadowing from something or some sort of paint/marking on her?

ok, now onto the part where i get gushy ;u;
AMG this is SOOOOO good the hair details are just SO perfect!
also, her eyes are super-fantasically magical! .u.
her neck is just the right length so that the hair that didn't get swept up into her magnificent hairdo cascades in just the right way
also you have mastered the expression in this piece
she looks somewhat wistful and forlorn like someone did something to her and she can't forgive them

ok, now we move into the criticism from the inexperienced artist
ok, i think the shape of her nostrils could be a bit better even though it's more than what i could even hope to accomplish
also there could be more details in the ears to make it even more realistic

I don't really know what the theme is-
I just kind of winged it! I can see what you mean by Victorian, though!
And I used the half airbrush brush and the regular brush. I played around with my opacity settings a lot.
And in the ref I used, her hands were making a shadow across her face, but I kind of made my own shape, and I like the look of war paint. So it can either!

I should fix the shape of her nostrils, you're right. When it started out, she was looking slightly right, but as I painted, her eyes and lips moved more into the centre.
And I'm NOT good at ears!
