The moon is full... Tails heard Sonic growling in his sleep... He got up and went over to the sleeping hedgehog... thinking he was dreaming
"Sonic?" Tails touched Sonic "Are you OK?"
As soon as the fox touched him, Sonic grabbed Tails' arm and opened his eyes.
Tails starred in fear as Sonic's slit eyes gazed into his soul.
Sonic let go.. falling onto the floor, where the moon shinned down on him. He shook violently as his shoes, gloves, neckerchief, and athletic tape tore open.
Tails fell to the ground and scooted to the back of the wall as he watched his best friend take over a large change.
When the shaking stopped. Sonic opened his eyes once again, looking at his friend, who looked like an enemy. He trudged towards Tails... Growling anxiously.
"Sonic? A-a-are you OK?" Tails tried to get as small as possible. For all he could see was a shadow.
Sonic slashed at Tails, making the fox jump up and hide behind the couch.
Sonic stepped into the moonlight, making Tails shiver in fear.
For what he saw was a werehog, howling at the full moon.

I'm going off the comic where he can't control it and his vision is blurred. Sonic would never do it on purpose. Even in werehog form.

No, I mean Sonic Boom isn't canon. Like, Sonic Boom might not make Sonic a werehog on a Halloween special because Sonic Boom isn't canon.
