Hurray, my first submission (other than journals) to DeviantArt. This is the also first miniature that I have painted in a long time. Despite its shortcomings, I am quite happy with how the figure turned out. I am actually happiest with the base and the back of her cloak-- neither of which is clearly visible in the photo. Her face gave me some trouble; her skin in general gave me trouble, but the face was the worst. I just couldn't get the paint to go on smoothly enough. Up close it looks like she has bad acne scarring; of course, it's not unreasonable to think that I wizard's apprentice might have such scars.Related content

Skin looks smooth enough to me.
I find i have the same problem; usually means ye need to thin the paint down with a drop or two of water.

I was going through a bunch of my old miniatures yesterday, looking for just the right figures for an upcoming Pathfinder game. It really put me in the mood to paint.

Thank you... I think I did so simply by dry-brushing and washing... though I tried to get a darker was in areas that seemed to need it.
