looking for some sdvice to see if i should start drawing realism to improve my anime when i found that disscusion. Jugding by your awesome art, i figured you were on deviantart. I just wanted to say that your manga/anime and realism is soooo excellent that your teacher is an idiot for not giving you an A+ for it! please keep drawing manga though becuase i think it's kickass! My art school frowns at anime too but i'm not going to let that stop me

Oh well xD I'm still going to draw it! It's not against the law! Well i am allowed to draw it but they want me to do other forms of art because they don't see it as realism

anything can be art as long as it's in the hands of an artist, right? and we should be allowed to draw what we want...if they force us to draw something that doesnt interest us, we won't be motivated. and EVERYONE knows that an artist needs motivation. tsk3... looool

this is absolutely gorgeous drawing ~ i really like your drawing style and especially the way you draw the eyes of the characters design is really nice ~ composition is balanced looking even though the characters are quite on the right side of the picture, since the girl is on the middle and closer to the viewer. colouring is really pretty, especially the sky. colouring is overall really smooth looking and different tones are blending together really well. shadings and highlights are changing prettily on the clothes, wrinkles comes nicely seen and colouring makes them look natural on the place were they are. colouring is quite bluish and greenish, but the red and brown colour balances it well and gives brightening. square effect on the shirts of the characters and on the fence adds nice detail on them as the lace like pattern on the girl's socks and tie of the both characters, yet they are also great eye catchers ^_^ square pattern around the light circles of the background emphasizes the light of them really well and combines the effects of the characters too, so it makes the character and background look whole that they belong together. silhouettes of the leaves on the background fills the space neatly and emphasize the night theme nicely. light circles brings magical touch to the atmosphere and well placed to the sky. only thing that disturbs little bit is the purplish colour on one of the light circles, since it can be seen so clearly. in the end this is very beautiful drawing ~ atmosphere is harmonic and it's gentle to look at !
