Description
One of the first characters I created was the elven fighter Tezin'dar Drackomani. As with many of our first characters, he died in the first session of his game.
Years later, I recreated Tezin'dar for another campaign, and he lasted much longer as a character. Β During one particular adventure, we encountered a red dragon who had been burning nearby villages. Hunting the dragon down (for some reason... because we were only 2nd level! But there was like... 9 of us!) we came to its lair and engaged the beast outside the cave. Knowing full well my mundane sword would be useless against the dragon, Tezin'dar snuck into the cave and found the dragon's hoard... where he found this sword! Claiming the blade as his own, he returned to the fight and got in a couple of swings before the dragon fell.
Back in the days of 2nd edition, Moonsaber was a +1 longsword that "glowed with the pale blue light of the moon." It dealt extra damage against lycanthropes and other shapeshifters. Once per night, and only at night, the sword could cast the moonbeam spell.
I recently decided to create Tezin'dar for a third time in a new 5th edition campaign being run by my roommate, Tom. Sure, he won't have Moonsaber, but... Oh well...
