Description Oh I'm at university, by the way, and I don't have Photoshop on this laptop so not only will I not have a huge amount of time to draw things, I have no way of colouring them either.

So yesterday I witnessed *Cotton-gravy s excellent picture [link] and felt inspired to draw Dick Dastardly (one of my cartoon heroes) and Muttley myself.

I always preferred them in Wacky Races than Dastardly & Muttley in their Flying Machines so that's what I went with here.

It was never meant to be a complete drawing but it started comin out better than I expected so I carried on with it.

I'm considering following it up with The Phantom Phink/Sludge and Dread Baron/Mumbly if only to show how Hannah-Barbera started losing their marbles (Though I do have a theory as to why Dastardly and Muttley didn't appear in Laff-o-Lympics.)

Should be coloured when I get the chance.

what was your theory about them not being in the laff-a-lympics? Also I have a yogi bear movie with dread baron and mumbly in it, dread baron sounded ALOT like Dick Dastardly in it!

Is that so? Well I'll be the first to admit that there are facets of Hannah-Barbera I don't know about.

My assumption of them not being in Laff-a-Lympics was that each team had a mascot/captain. The fact that they were all animals might play a part in it but even so Muttley is really more suited to a mascot role than Dastardly but he was always the second fiddle as Dick took command so I think it might have messed up their group dynamics to include them in that capacity.
It could be argued that Scooby-Doo wasn't the leader of his gang and far from the best detective but at least he was the star of the show, and Muttley never was. So I figured they picked Mumbly from their back catalogue since he was his own dog and was at least a strange reference to Muttley.

Alternately I could have completely missed the mark with such a theory.

u think that's weird... mumbly was SUPPOSED to be a good guy detective... but in Laff-a-lympics and "yogi bear and the magical flight of the spruce goose" he becomes a villian and works for Dread Baron... the dick dastardly look-a-like

I was never terribly fond of Wacky Racers, but Dick Dastardly was always funny to me. I wish I could have seen the spinoff that was only about him and Muttley (Though I could have done without the dog as well. He just annoyed me).

Yeah Muttley was never a big favourite of mine but they're a team so I had to include him really.

I can't wait to see this colored. I loved this cartoon soo much. I still mumble under my breath like Muttley when I'm pretending to be pissed off.

DON'T DO IT.
Well I guess you can if you want, but then there's less chance that I'll colour it because you'll just make me look bad.

Hello no. I'll ruin it ;_;

Nah, it's cool. If you'd rather me not I don't mind.

That's a weird sentence.

They made Dick Dastardly a ten year old.

OH GOD I DON'T REMEMBER THAT AT ALL.

And apparently there are no pictures of it online. It doesn't help that "Yoyogi" appears to be a Japanese city.
