The Little Monkey, presumably a chimp due to his prehensile tail, so one has to wonder what kind of simian Dixie is. Or Cranky! An old, withered Gorilla?

Diddy Kong in Smash
Diddy was one of my most used characters in Brawl but he was another character that I just didn't carry over into Wii U/3DS and when I do play as him he doesn't feel the same, maybe when the controls are better I'm just worse with him!
I was never especially happy to see him playable. While I do kind of like him as a character I think he carries a little Bowser Jr. -ness about him, since he kind of usurped Donkey Kong Junior. Strange, given the reasons why I don't like Bowser Jr are the same reasons I do like DK Jr. Anyway he's still a pretty cool character and it's great to see a character originating from this country appear in Smash, even if his conjoined eyes are a bit weird in the grand scape of the franchise.

As mentioned in my DK piece, Diddy was kind of demoted to a power-up in Donkey Kong Country Returns but I'm kind of okay with that. However, it might be interesting for a new DKC game to adopt the original tag team dynamic, maybe give the opportunity to choose two of a collection of Kongs to set as your team. They do a good job of characterising him though and I also kind of wonder if we'll ever see a new Diddy Kong Racing...?
