If someone told my younger self (back in the 90's) that there was going to be a Sonic The Hedgehog movie starring Jim Carrey, I'd have thought it was the greatest thing in all of creation.That ol' monkey's paw strikes again!

Sooo... everything pretty much seems done. Lore ignored, character ruined + general inadequacy of movie (child in a bag joke was not just bad, but also really uncomfortably bad) and crappy marketing (Gangsta's paradise... really?).
However one thing that is stuck with me and gives a little bit of hope is that Eggman teaser frame at the end. Seems so weird how they put it to tease. Either the lore will be used and the proper story of Sonic will be unfold somewhere in the midst of that Sheriff plot... Or they'll save it for a lame joke - Sonic drops Eggman into pool of chemicals and now he's bald with curly ginger mustache, because ha, ha...

I've heard that the scene with the more authentic-looking Robotnik is the film's post-credits scene.Β
Like any godawful video game movie, they have to wait until the end of the movie to give the character their respective attire. That's how you can usually tell that the pricks who are making the film are embarrassed by the source material, when they need to 'splain the character's unorthodox appearance be it overalls, kung fu jumpsuits or a bald head and large, bushy mustache.

They are. Mario's slowly coming back to the mainstream. They're apparently supposed to be opening a Nintendo-themed area at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2021/22. I guess it will open to coincide with the release of the Mario animated movie.

I'm almost certain their business model for their movie hinges on having people come to watch it out of sheer disbelief that such a miscarriage is even remotely possible.

Why in the world would the designer take his trademarks away, the white gloves, red sneakers with white straps and change the color of his arms to blue. he looks awful and other Deviants and Sonic fans could do better with his design.
My thoughts on Jim Carrey has Robotnik is a bizarre choice for me, Yes I know he played the Mask and Ace Venture which were good movies for the 90's but come on this is NOT Robotnik
Its gonna flop.
I can see now why Nintendo haven't made another Mario or had a go at a live action Zelda movie. There goes another Classic Character

I don't think Long John Baldry could save this movie.
It's been speculated that a property has to exist for at least 50 years before Hollywood is willing to make a respectable movie about it. Like comic books are getting these days.

Like Batman Forever, it really seems like Jim Carrey is at least having a ball playing this role. He probably knows he's making total crap, but he's going for the gusto anyway.

I'll remain skeptical until I see it for myself, but I guess this would be a good time to make some creative suggestions. Too bad it can't always be this easy with movies before they're released.
