September 16th is the birth date of one of the classiest and most beautiful women to grace the silver screen. In my humble opinion you would be hard pressed to find a woman today equal to Ms Bacall's talents or beauty.I hope you enjoy the photo.

Hello there! I'm back again with my comments, obviously from
Shading is so soft and smooth, her dress is gently decorated, her hair have glorious curls (I wish I had them, too.)
There are only a few things to point out, and all of them are just little imperfections. First of all the shadow on the chin is very scratchy, and not that smooth; secondly the same can be said for the side of her nose. Just a little bit more of blending would have been just right!
In the overall I think it's evident you put a lot of effort in this piece, and it paid out a lot!

Hello, I found this deviation through ProjectComment .
First of all you've capured verry verry well Lauren's facial expression and his emosions. She has such a sexy appearance of a strong women. Her eyes are beautifull and her lips are so detailed. In fact all the draw is verry detailed, wich is such a great thing.
I like the shadings ( it is verry clear that you have the light from the upp, right part ) and I like the fact that you've created a background wich didn't distract the attention from the principal element, the women.
Some advices:
- her hair looks a little bit rough. Try to use smother lines on it's end

When I first glanced at this work, Lauren Bacall Revisited by professorwagstaff, I immediately noticed her facial expression. It is the expression of a strong and sexy woman. I think that this portrait is appropriate for a tribute to "one of the classiest and most beautiful women to grace the silver screen". The element I enjoy the most about this portrait is the lighter values of her depiction, contrasting with the smooth and darker values of the background. However, I would like to see more seamless shading in her waves of hair, such as shading seen in the background. This can simply be done using your very fingertips. I would suggest pulling/smearing the darker values in the corners into the lighter values. I believe this will create a more blended, and more realistic look and "feel". Overall, you captured her portrait quite accurately.

Wow i am absolutely impressed. I love the shading you did, and the whole drawing gives off a kind of noir vibe. I like her pouty expression and yet her eyes are intense! The way you made the light reflecting on her hair is wonderful too. very talented drawing !

You've done a beautiful job with her eyes. They are very expressive despite her passive face. The proportions of her face and lovely, and holy mackerel, the details you put into her blouse are magnificent! The thing I woudl suggest to improve is to give the hair on the right side of her face some more shading and detail. You've done a magnificent job on the rest of her hair, but the little bit you see on the other side is flat by comparison.
