Niche: They fill a similar niche to Roaches, they eat dead plants and other dead matter (Although they are generally omnivorous), and are in turn eaten by larger animals
Planet: Counter-Earth

Description: Beadles are omnivorous, although they generally eat plant matter. They are difficult to kill, similar to roaches. They have very strong exoskeleton, in a design convergent with the Diabolical Ironclad Beatle(Can withstand continous force of 800 N without breaking). When threatened, they may tuck their heads and limbs into their exoskeleton. They have biological immortality, meaning that after they reach adulthood they stop aging indefinitely (This is seen in some animals like some Jellyfish). Although the need to molt often shortens that lifespan to less than forever. They can live in a wide variety of temperatures, from temperatures that make Mars seem like Texas to temperatures that make Texas look like Mars. They are able to enter a "hibernation state." In this state most bodily functions are dramatically slowed down, (Up to possibly 100x as slow), much of the water in their bodies is expelled, and proteins are produced that make it even more hardy than usual. In the hibernation state Beadles can survive even more extreme temperatures and conditions. Beadles can stay in this hibernation state for years before waking up. In extreme cases, Beadles can be frozen in ice for decades in its hibernation state, and emerge just fine when the ice thaws. They have an instinctual reaction to bite anything that grabs it, this results in extreme situations where they bite the inside of the attackers mouths. They lay a couple hundred eggs per mating. Curiously, Beadles have vestigial wings, which can be seen sticking out their exoskeletons, assuming the wings have not been broken.
