Description

How come we've never seen a third version of the infamous Imperial-class Star Destroyer? So I decided to make my own here. I tried to make it closely to the Imperial star destroyers as possible but also give it its own identity. I hope that I've managed to make a good concept of this never seen star destroyer variant here.

The Imperial III-class Star Destroyer was an advance variant of the infamous Imperial-class that was commissioned in late ABY 3. But due to the demands by the Emperor to build the Death Star II as quickly as possible, most resources were put into its construction above most if not all projects. Including ship building. So very few Imperial III's were commissioned at Kuat Drive Yards. However, despite this, it was a highly advance star destroyer and proved superior to its other counterparts. After the Battle of Endor, Imperial III's became few and far between. Though they proved to be a powerful ship, there weren't enough to make a difference against the Rebel Alliance and its successor the New Republic. But despite all this, no Imperial III-class Star Destroyer were neither destroyed nor taken during their short service in the Empire. After the Galactic Civil War, the Imperial III's under Imperial officers either escaped into the Unknown Regions or handed over to New Republic militia forces who used the ships to build up Outer Rim national guard-like groups to protect New Republic and independent worlds.
