Yes, this is watercolor. It is a fairly hard medium to work with, you have to layer the colors, which can be several! Lots of patience is needed, but like all mediums, once you learn their characteristics, it's easy to control, it just takes a lot of practice! Practice, practice, practice! Your welcome.I can understand that in a way because i often work with soft pastel (oil pastels are my fav) and some ppl think its annoying and messy and they don't understand my choise. I was never good with wotercolor in school, so thats why i admire you  .

Im pretty good with all mediums. Oil pastels are really fun. Have you tried it wuth turpinoid? Its kinda like working in oil paint.
