here is a sloppy quick speedpaint of what i think the Phantom mob would look like realistically! it did only take an hour ish so please dont call me out on those sketch lines ahahai modeled a lot of it off of a bat, which gave me the idea for the "ears" and addition of feet...it actually does look like an evil blue toothless which i unfortunately realized halfway through and now i can't unsee it aaAAAaaaahh
i also slapped some generic online filters on for chromatic abberation and blur which i'm sure makes it look marginally betterΒ
it's cool to draw fanart of minecraft that's not restricted to 3d blocks? kind of a refreshing change, maybe i'll do more of these

Holy shit, this is an awesome drawing of that Phantom mob in Minecraft! While those things were modeled and designed after Manta Rays, and you say your drawing of it was modeled off a bat... It actually looks more like an undeadΒ wyvern/dragon. And honestly, that's not a bad thing that it's an "Evil Blue Toothless"; those mobs seem to invoke the look of a dragon/wyvern, so it works well.
Overall, nice job on this creature! It's pretty scary, and you nailed it.

You certainly captured the "terror of the night sky", these things honestly sound like piranhas when attacking and it is terrifying. You did an amazing job with adding the skeletal features (especially those joints) to this rendition! The texturing is great! It truly feels like something undead and menacing, in a way almost more refined than a decaying zombie. If that makes sense.Β
