The shading here on this is brilliant. Almost every little detail here is incredible - the textures, the pencils, the flow of the penciling: it shows an artist who knows what he or she is doing. However, this has been done before - while its not the most original tattoo out there, it is certainly well executed and it speaks a personality - a fearless and powerful phoenix, brave against all odds. Very well done, positively marvelous in execution and vision. One little piece of advice - while the wings and face are incredible, the tail piece feels a little more flawed than the rest - it looks a lot heavier than the rest of the body. All in all, a very solid piece.

I agree with you about the tail, thing is I couldn't get it to flow upwards (as if the phoenix was landing) any higher cause it just merged with the body of it and turned it into a big lump, when I color it I might try to make some adjustments to it though.....
