I quite love Pokemon. Ever since I first saw a preview for it (featuring a 3D polygonal Squirtle) in the back of a GamePro magazine back when I was a miserable fat 13 year old boy. I was so excited to save up money and buy the BLUE version for my aging game boy. I will never forget my Blastoise named Gamera or my Gengar named Mr.Smiles. I will never forget how absurdly overpowered Gengar was back then. Blew through the whole Elite 4 with that guy.

Now as a chubby miserable adult, I still enjoy the games and the progressions they go through. Every version having its own little changes, its twists, its new deity monsters that control space/time or what have you. The new odd strategies that arise as new types, moves, and items are introduced. It's always a joy to see what bizarre new creatures they create over there.

For this image I included a bunch of my favorites, many of which I think don't have particularly numerous fans, but whose designs I have a odd fondness for. To celebrate Pokemon turning 20 years old, I made this! Here's to another 20! (though I imagine we will run out of things to turn into pokemon before that point!)
