Description I found the last female face I uploaded earlier today embarrassing and creepy-looking, so I tried again to see if I could do a better job.

I'm not sure I did do any better (instead this has *different* problems!!1), but I'm at least learning from each of these, and they're interesting to do!

Maybe I should do things like this of characters from my games, rather than just trying to make up faces of nobody in particular... That could be an interesting experience.

This one is just made up though. It's based on a typical middle-aged woman, the likes of which you'd see walking around in any supermarket or living as a housewife. They all look like this, right?!

Yes, it's totally that and not some probably-young woman thing with ridiculous hair. Totally.

Also, the ridiculous hair is silly and I hate colouring it as some kind of afterthought; the reason I'm doing these is to get experience colouring *faces*, rather than hair, and yet the rushed-and-ugly hair ends up being 'most of the image', in a way! Pfft!

She looks just like that woman from the Disney movie "Hercules" o.O

Hmm, she almost looks like she's malevolent in that image, I feel. The right eyebrow seems to be curved in an angry, or plotting way, or something. It's like she's giving some aside glance of evil, or something! o.o The green eyes also seem like it supplements that image with some envy, I guess. The hair also seems to have this malicious touch to it, gasp, it makes me think of Medusa for some reason. o.o

Of course, most generic women are like Medusa, of course! In that they make men rock hard, ohyes~

Anyway, I sort of feel like most woman (And lots of the men too. ) you ever make has long hair and such, hmm, I am sort of curious whether you sometimes try something else, but just don't like it because it doesn't appeal to you personally... I sort of wonder whether experimenting with other and shorter hairstyles might liven things up for you? Then again, it might also be 'going outside of the comfort' zone or something, I wouldn't know.

Oh, but, aside from that I do think that this portrait improved on the previous one, the facial structure looks better, the eyes look better, it's easily recognized as what you intended it to be. Uh, it just seems to be better in every regard!

I mean, it does look good, my comment was probably looking into things a bit too much, perhaps it's because the person in the image seems to make eye-contact with the viewer. (Actually, that seems like a common thing, portraits of humans usually make eye contact with the viewer, but it seems that animal portraits do that much less... Just some silly observation I made!)

I've seen both faces and I honestly don't find a problem with them, really.. x'D
I guess I can see how one could find them creepy, but I don't.

Again, I feel like the eyes are kind of...weird. Kind of creepy. I know it's only a detail, but that little reddish/pinkish think i-don't-know-the-proper-name in the corner of the eye, I think it's too big. And on the eye away from the viewer, it should not be visible at all. It makes her eyes look like they're sore.
Aside from that, the portrait is great. You should post more of them. Like you said, you could try doing some characters from the game. Make Mardek portraits, people love Mardek portraits.

Perhaps you're misinterpreting the colouring of the eyes as if it's supposed to be the tear duct; that wasn't my intention. I just tried to give the eyes a 3D effect by not just using solid white; the pinkish bit is meant to just be soft shading to suggest the roundness of the eyeballs.

Anyway, sigh, apparently it is still a long road that awaits ahead of me before I can draw faces that are not 'creepy'.

Ah, yea, you're right about the misinterpretation ^^. Still, I don't think shading an eyeball with pink/red is a good idea. I'm no artist, but from what I see in the photos, and other artist's pictures, shadow on the eye is either brown-ish (simillar color to the one you shade skin with) or simply gray. You may also try adding a little shine to the iris. It's ofeten overused by people, but it greatly improves, well, let's say 'depth' of the eyes. And, definitely post more.

Dude relaaaax its beautiful for gods sake... Yeah the only problem Is the general curveness you can get to make it look more elegant. But if you leave that factor, it gives your art a sense of uniqueness, like a trademark.

My only comment is that you don't really have an overall curve-ness to it. I think that seems to be the main problem with it.
