It's 2411 A.D. The machines have taken over and have laid the earth to waste. However, small pockets of resistance still remain spread far and wide. The rebels stay alive by staging raids on the machine-cities. Now and then the machines retalliate, but the humans have managed to hang on so far.

Here we can see one such raid. A mech-pod patrol has stumbled on a rebel hideaway. The rebels have been modifying and putting obsolete machinery to their own use as a means of survival, but are forced to pull back and abandon their valuable gear.
