Before I delve into this essential, by-the book and yet very original piece of fractal art, I must say that one of the main reasons i love the work of psion005 is that they all give an impression that the man truly knows what he's doing e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/> What i actually wanna say is that he's able to create fractals that clearly remind you of something that aren't fractals e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/> e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/> e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/>, but something specific, and very obvious. They're all pretty sthraightforward so that when you look at them, you don't feel like looking at Rorscach tests and you don't have to analyse the imagery thoroughly in order to comprehend.
Menger sponge is one of my favorite fractal forms, which offers limitless possibilities - yet psion005 again succeeded turning it into something that has a story. Looking at it, you feel invited into some kind of a multidimensional underground realm - a place that aliens call home.
For me, this is something I'd love to see adapted to real-world architectural capabilities and built as an entrance to a club that holds psychedelic trance gigs, and I'd also love to see the entire club made of Menger cubes - I reckon they'd have awesome acoustic properties, being infinitely hollow and infinitely solid... which is something aliens have no problem producing e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/>. I also love the symmetry in it - which tells me that this is not something nature came up with, but a reminiscent of an intelligent beings behind the design.
So, if the point of critique (and this being my very first one e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/> yay!!!) is not just to give a positive review - the only think I'd maybe love to see added here would be some texturing, but I'm unaware if that's possible to achieve with Mandelbulb3D. Yet, if the walls would be textured, the texture would have to be something simple but effective, because I feel that too complex and detailed texture could make the entire image clogged and much harder to comprehend. I'd also maybe love to see the symmetry broken by having lighting come from some other direction - like the upper left or right corner of an image.
By this, I feel I haven't said 1% of all the things this great piece of art offers to a viewer - but, as already being said, like with all other Andrew's works - when you see it, you'll know what you're looking at in a split second e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="40" height="25" alt="" title="Bounce"/>

this is great! while looking about an inch away from the outer edges, i can see the picture lengthening in depth, like it was expanding. until i look in the middle, and then its normal again, love it
