Okay so maybe not so homesick as bored but I'm sure there's homesick in there... and in the finished product it sure looks homesick.
My attempt at emulating the style of the great Dave Hill so go check his stuff out... it's way better than this.

See... this is what it looked like before I got my hands on it. It's the same exact picture I just did a whole lot of after-editing to get the look you see above.

This is a regular photo
What is done to it is all after effects in photoshop. Not something a camera or filter does but a lot of work to add highlights, shadows, blur, desaturation and everything else creatively to give it this finished effect.
