we should be greedy to live, otherwise why were we given the gift and curse of existence?

greed causes pain (buddha says)
are you greedy for life?
you seem more to be disappointed

I am not greedy for life and yet there's an abundance of pain; greed for life as in the desire to truly live with all your being, taste the whole experience, that is what I'm lacking; too much time is wasted in the preparation for living

you are like a fish in the sea always thirsty... exactly that state zen buddhists describe.
stop preparing, start living.

I can't say I've been able to actually put it into practice as a constant action of living, but I like to think of it as an evolution; it all starts with satori and the rest is to be lived.
