Ode to the Farfetch'd, that brave little duck
lost in a sea of enemies with naught but his stick.
For one so soft-spoken, that stick should be big
not merely a little leek sprig.

He is neither baby, nor evolved
Not quite cute, yet not exactly fearsome.
He can't wall the opponent or attack in a flurry
or even be fuel for a furry.

Pokemon are your friends, your partners
companions in battle, victorious.
But poor Farfetch'd is so rarely a winner,
is he meant only to be someone's dinner?

His lack of a second stage prevents entry into the Little Cup
Oh, what a cruel, sad twist of fate!
That the very thing that makes him so weak
should make his battling future look so bleak.

So frail that he is never used
even among those classified as "Never Used"
Weakest of the weak; poorest of the poor
still he trudges on forevermore.

Magikarp supposedly teaches you the value
of due patience in training to level 20.
What then of Farfetch'd's tears,
when he has been waiting for 17 long years?
