Hrmmmmm, what to say about this one? Well, you all knew this was coming.
Um, I guess a bit about the relationship between these two, then.

After proving herself (though not winning) in a Kung Fu tournament, Sǔn was chosen by Shifu to be the guardian of Shān Zhài village, just outside the range of the Furious Five's protection. Before sending her off, Shifu, with the assistance of Po and the Five, put her through vigorous training to prepare her for the job. During the course of her training, she and Master Crane developed a close bond. They knew their time was short so at first they tried to ignore it, but cranes pair for life so their fate was sealed

After a year of training, Sǔn fulfilled her duty and took up residence in Shān Zhài, a five day's flight away from the Valley of Peace. While she and Master Crane correspond as regularly as they can via messengers, they only get to see each other in person during certain festivals and other important ceremonial days, about three or four times a year.
