BUOYARC, the Water Cocoon Pokémon. BUOYARC, RIGLEE's evolution, is still a water dweller. Unlike MOLTAGE, BUOYARC prepares for a full metamorphosis inside its sturdy shell as it remains afloat. It still can release attacks it learned as the Water Larva, or HARDEN itself for protection.

Name Origin: BUOYant or BUOYancy [floating or the scientific force that keeps things afloat] and ARC [since it is more bent a cocoon than others]

For a very critical reason , I would like to take this opportunity to thank all future ers and ers of my works.

I present Riglee's evolution, Buoyarc, the Water Cocoon Fakemon! This is Moltage 's counterpart and my Bug-typed answer to Vibrava's not being a Bug-type despite looking one.

Buoyarc is based on a mosquito's cocoon, complete with the enlarged head structure down to the shrimp-like body and tail. Unlike Moltage, Buoyarc is a cocoon for a total change from Riglee to Mosqiator. Everything changes inside this Fakemon, not like Moltage's only developing powerful hind legs for Buzzapper . Even the typing is changed from Buoyarc to Mosqiator, so better watch out for that.

Buoyarc and Moltage share almost the same moves learned: Harden and Iron Defense. While Moltage Screeches to protect itself by lowering the opponent's Defense sharply, Buoyarc uses its Scary Face to slow enemies down. The extent of this move's utlitity is rather questionable, because Buoyarc has an awful Speed. The only reason for that Scary Face move is the fact that Buoyarc indeed has a scary face. Meh.

As with Moltage, Buoyarc has issues with Vibrava, so I have to repeat my explanation in Moltage's page. The Vibration Pokémon has 340 stats total, while my Water Cocoon Fakemon has 365. Why the discrepancy? It's simply because of an imbalance in evolution growth between Trapinch and Vibrava. Trapinch has a monstrous Attack stat at 100, and Vibrava has an average 70. Yes, there is a HUGE drop, so there is a big discrepancy alright. That gives us Trapinch at 290 total, Vibrava at 340 total, and Flygon at a faaaar 520 total. So instead of lowering the 290 total for my unevolved Riglee, I instead increased Buoyarc's total, giving it 365 like Moltage. This will make it seem more balanced than the Flygon line. But there is still a HUGE drop in Speed from Riglee to Buoyarc. Being a cocoon almost incapable of movement, Buoyarc has 30 Speed, half of Riglee's 60, and 5 less than Moltage's. Buoyarc has promising Physical stats, with 80 on both Attack and Defense [this is a justification for the metamorphosis to become a Mosqiator]. Buoyarc gets a low 55 in HP and an even lower 45 in Special Attack. Finally, Buoyarc and Moltage share the same Special Defense at 75.
