I find rotary tools are best when carving knots. Though the burrs used with power tools depends on the type of tree the knots come from. The only time I use knives on knots is to cut in fine lines.

Knots always present a challenge Β Β and unless you're incorporating them into the artwork mostly untouched then a rotary tool for me is the ONLY way to go.Β Β Β
