"Mom! Stop it!" Brianna said as she clutched her blankets tighter and pulled them closer to her. "Give me ten more minutes.."
"Come on! Get up sleepyhead!" her mom gave one final tug and her blanket came off, leaving Brianna unsuccessfully grasping at the empty air. "Ugh! Mom!"
"Get dressed. You meet your soulmate today." And with that her mom swung around and walked out.
" Soulmate? Today? "Brianna mumbled to herself as she say up. She looked at her clock, it read 'December 31st 11:00' "oh"she calmly sat up and began dressing herself. Her mom had set out some nice frilly clothes for her but she ignored them. She headed for her dresser and pulled out a faded band shirt, ripped black jeans, and a bra. She quickly threw them on and grabbed a few bracelets to cover her cuts. She brushed her bleach blonde, shoulder length hair and began walking out. If her room.

" I'm not wearing it" she replied plainly and turned the TV on and began thinking about her soulmate. But she started getting nervous when she realized they were probably going to be a girl. She wasn't sure if her parents would approve. She still lived with her parents even though she was 23-which she thought was pathetic-but she couldn't seem to keep a job. And she depended on them for housing until she could move out so she was very worried. She shifted in her seat. "Honey? Is something wrong?"
"N-no mom." She jumped when her mom asked " Nothing is wrong" It was going to be a long hour.
