Here's a new NikMati artwork, a series focusing on mental health issues. Today's topic is about overthinking, which I'm sure many of you have gone through before...more than once perhaps.

It's an action of thinking about something too much, in a way that is not useful. Be it money, family, love, relationships, work, exams, faith, childhood trauma, life, or death - you put too much time into thinking about or analyzing that one topic in your head to the point it becomes more harmful than helpful. When it reaches its tipping point, you become agitated, fearful, hard of breathing, difficulty sleeping, loss of appetite, or worse, doing something harmful to yourself.

Most people would say to "stop overthinking and chill" but it's easier said than done. At times when you're deep inside the rabbit hole, it's extremely difficult to crawl out of it. It takes a miracle to escape from this madness and fortunately, there are ways to overcome it. One of which is to distract yourself with hobbies. I'm fortunate to have plenty of them to keep my mind busy and drawing is one of them. It's therapeutic for me. If you're one of those who overthink a lot, consider immersing yourself in hobbies.
