Description Dornier Do 335 (from wikipedia [link] )

The Dornier Do 335 Pfeil ("Arrow") was a World War II heavy fighter built by the Dornier company. The two-seater trainer version was also called Ameisenbär ("anteater"). The Pfeil's performance was much better than other twin-engine designs due to its unique "push-pull" layout and the much lower drag of the in-line alignment of the two motors. The Luftwaffe was desperate to get the design into operational use, but delays in engine deliveries meant only a handful were delivered before the war ended.

Oh man...the Luftwaffe was so behind the times developing second generation aircraft... outside of perhaps the FW-190 (but lacked altitude performance), Japan was the same way...

I think one reason is the lack of ressources during wartime - great luck for the rest of the world, I guess ...

It seems that the Axis Powers always had trouble designing and building powerful aircraft engines. On the other hand, the US turned out 2000-2500 hp powerplants like pork and beans.

I thing it had something to do with the circumstances in the later war. A lot of factories were destroyed, the lack of material and engineers ...

Do you know of any other paint schemes? I am making a scale model and wanted to do something different.
