While I finsh up something else, here's another of my works from last years 'Slumber Party' project: a color 'centerfold' type shot of my recently revamped character Adara Bloodmoon.The premise is fairly simple. While all the wild whooping and hijinx you'd normally find at a slumber party of a bunch of girls goes on, you just happen to check out a room somewhat away from the noise. You crack open the door to the fairly dark room...and here's what you see.
There she is, in a tempting quizzical pose as she playfully dangles one of her anklets on her pale toes in the back. Illuminated only by a little candle light (off to the left somewhere), the crimson-tressed, slightly-vampiric maiden cutely tilts her head...as if she's asking you to come and sit or lie down next to her on that fancy blood-red couch, yet never uttering a word.
Of course, Adara's clad in her (slightly gothic) version of sleepwear-lingerie...it is a slumber party, after all.
Dare you lay with her?

We'll have to see. It was just a nightie after all (and I'd definitely have to remove the 'Rayne'-esque hair rings). Hm, and this was back when her eyes were a different color too.

Wow. Your description of your pic explains everything, that I would have found when I study it. Adara really does strike me as vampiric from her clothing down to the bed frame. The atmosphere has a dark touch of comfort and secrecy that hints symbolically, the wishful thought of a lonesome person.
The red color which often accociates with passion, or attraction, is very ideal and powerful. Her pose including the teasing of the anklet on her toes, creates a powerful magnet of attraction that makes Adara all the more irresistable. This pic also serves as a powerful lesson that the best way to resist temptation is to never set foot at the front door. One step foward, a glance or two is just enough for any man to fall head over heals.
The dark room, to me, represents the mind set or the secret inner closet, of man's weakness. The word vampiric is actually an excellent decription that expresses how her beauty can easily rob a man of his very strength. To lay down would be to surrender that strength, to give in, and be lost into the netherworld, the point of no return. Thus, all former inocence would be lost all for one single night.
This is a very powerful pic. The story and the elements of this image reminds me of the reality of temptation, and how the entertainment of a particular thought can snow ball into action. Between this current image of her invitation and the desire to join her is only five inches away. That is between the mind and the heart. Usually that's how it works.

I love how deeply you analyzed this one, I really appreciate deep feedback like this...especially of the type that actually reads the image for what it represents as opposed to just the visual factor.
You were spot on about the intention here: a feeling of loneliness in the darkness (remember, the original plot behind this was a quiet room AWAY from all the 'slumber party' hijinks, hence Adara placed herself 'away'
Just one look into the dark room could be very costly, as you could be easily swept off your feet and into...well...
That was the main element here: temptation. A glowing crimson amidst the muted (and yet still 'warning'

Thanks very much, glad you like this one. Yep, I tried to make Adara very 'notable' here amidst the darkness with her hair being so bright in contrast...and of course, red for her theme.
As for the anklets, she likes wearing them...and apparently people like seeing her in them too. ^^ Just another tempting touch...

With a look like that and such lovely feet, it'd be hard to resist someone like Adara. The look on her face and the tantalizing positioning of her feet, combined with the general atmosphere of the background, really go well with this one.
I have to wonder, though, given that Adara seems to be a vampire, would the cost of laying with her be a real 'bloody loss?' If it is, I suppose it's better than having to pay with an arm and a leg.

i remember you were trying to decide how to do the lighting and you finally settled on the "light from the doorway" idea, this piece came out so well and i loved it the first time and i still love it now

I'm very glad you like it (still). Happy to hear the lighting worked...just coming in the door (or a candle off page) from the left, illuminating just enough of her to make her 'red' stand out compared to the rest of the scene (plus, it deliberately hits the foot playing with its anklet).
