Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel - Samuel Johnson

Patriotism is the virtue of the vicious - Oscar Wilde

What drives me crazy is that people who really love their country are droned out by evil little, little people whose lack of imagination is made up for by their scheming ways. - Jack the Abyssinian

I feel slightly annoyed and irritated by this picture
I love america
I don't think Bush is the worst president we've ever had
I don't think the War is only for Oil
What I do think is that the Muslims hate us
I think they hate everyone who isn't Muslim

these are only my views but they may be shared by others
I am not a "radical patriot" I'm a normal person
I like the military and think I'm gonna join the Air Force
The picture was... alright in some ways but it does give people the impression of a Muslim making a statement that America is crazy or something

correct me if I'm wrong

Great concept, but be careful defacing the American flag is touchy even in art.. I should know I'm a Soldier and know quite a bit about the American flag. And yes I do agree there is an abundance of ignorant Americans, but there is also quite a bit that I'd call friend... but you know the cool part is.. We as Americans ain't alone in this field.. all the countries I've been too.. I've seen too much ignorance abound.

what i like is
a. it isnt a real flag
b. even if it was it is a protected artistic statement
and...
c. the flag stands for freedom... and that isnt just the freedom to say things other people like, but the freedom to say "We are ashamed president Bush is from TX", as the Dixie Chicks did and then found out the this country only likes it when people use the freedom of speech as long as they say what is popular!

This country is going to shit. And it is an absolute insult to "soldiers" like yourself and others that put your life on the line or even pay the ultimate price for a "greatness" you believe in that is AMERICA! Only to have your president lie to you, legalize torture, wire tapping, abolish "habeas Corpus", emplace new Martial Law regulations, kill innocent soldiers for the capitalization of our own country and its interest..etc...etc...etc...

This is a time where more need to speak up and less need to be silent. We have been silent and let this country fall for long enough. Now the "unpopular voices of contempt" need to be heard and need to ring out. Force people to see what they refuse to look at.

that is all i have
merry christmas
and thank you for your service to this country

Thank you for your response.. I couldn't tell that it wasn't a real flag, sure it ain't in the real size a normal set of flags would be in... but it's like what is said about the flag in our regulations, that it will not be worn in any way shape or form to take away from it's original dimensions. But Hey I'm not going to argue with you on your point of "C." alot of people see it easier to keep their mouths shut than to speak up, there are few that have hope for this country and most that do wear the uniform honorably adorned by the US Flag. How many times have you been walking down the street and see someone doing something wrong and no one says anything.. yeah I usually get yelled at or get weird looks for saying something. heck I even yelled at a G/f once for trying to stop me from helping someone in trouble... ah well.. I know there is only so much I can do as one person, but trying is a must and mandatory for me, I am a Soldier and an American and first off a Human.. we've got to show others that its okay to help.
Keep the message going man.. even though this image does initially give me the wrong message... I support your right to voice it.. oh please no more burning of fictitious flags...
