I am having an awful time drawing one of his boyfriends oops
He just 
Never looks right

But the other one is adorable! 
They're named Kurtis and Heath. Kurtis is an adorable ginger bab with pigtails and freckles and o m g 
He's so loving and loveable and just ahhh--- He loves the summer and is a total extrovert
Heath is really a sweetheart, omg. He's so nice??? 
He is a nurse who works with trauma survivors so he *has* to be nice oops 

then we have Lionel- the angry bab with anxiety problems

I am trying *so* hard to draw Heath but its not working
Could you give me a second opinion? 
So
Heath got his face/eye scratched badly when working with a patient
So he has an eye patch (I might remove it since its not working??) and is blind in one eye. 
I want him to be strongly built, wide chested, and have a square-ish face
But??

I've played around with brown, blue, and now orange eyes
And I tried pasty AF skin all the way to really really dark and I can't find one that works??? 
Ahhhh

I love the color scheme you have going on with him. Maybe try dark skin to contrast his light color palette? The eyepatch adds a nice effect too. If you don't like it you can maybe replace it with a scar, or the same as his other eye just lighter. I think it may be the light hair on the arms throwing it off?

Ahhhhh I am strugglinngggggg

His clothes are changeable, though he generally wears pediatric nurse scrubs (Because I love them oops) 
I would love to do dark skin but Lionel already has dark skin, so I wanted to go somewhere inbetween Kurtis and Lionel's skin tones. 
But it doesn't work-


Also, the eye patch is like
Less for function, more for approachable 
It doesn't do anything for him to have an eye patch since everything is healed and the eye is not sensitive to light, but his job requires that he is approachable and friendly in appearance (Hence the pediatric nurse scrubs) which is why a giant scared up face wouldn't scare people off

I want to give him soft hair and a gentle face and smol frame to communicate his soft and kind personality, but the entire point of his character is that hes big and intimidating but a total sweetheart

Aw, thanks! I am super proud of it! This picture is set after Lionel really comes out of his shell and begins to appreciate life again, so it makes me super happy too see him so alive! c:

I love drawing Kurtis so much, but I can *never* seem to draw Heath correctly! :c He always looks... off. Maybe I should redesign him I am not sure D:

A meeting Layla drawing sounds super good, I'd love to see it ^^

Well, if you're never happy with how you draw him maybe a small redesign is in order; doesn't have to big, just enough so that you feel you can draw him.

kurtis is such a sweet bab, oh my gosh I love him >.<

I feel like Kurtis wouldn't want to give Layla back again, and Heath would probably just pap her on the head and move on.

I want him to have a strong jaw and low-key square face, but I can't draw him for the life of me. He always looks so bland. 
I want him to have a facial scar (sustained from his job as a nurse working with trauma survivors and helping them adapt to the presence of people) but he always looks weird?? 
He should look approachable but not squishy like Kurtis or rugged like Lionel. 
Also his hair?? I want him to have short hair, but it always looks so weird D:

He's a bit skinnier than I drew him in the picture I showed you, but still. x'D Pretty good for a first concept.
