For 12 years I was a memeber of Mustang Clubs of America-Northern California division. Through that association, I created some long tern friendships....My point is that alot of the photos are from car shows, friends cars, my first love. Also, several are 8 x 10 that I bought and framed many years ago. I also use stock photos from the internet. This is where I spend way to much time. I create a bolder image by retouching the depth of a color then adding more color, 20% at a time. Then I will extract the image from the original picture and make it a vector. Then it's off to my backround photos folder, or create a backround using tubes brushes and other filter goodies or the simple solid color backround. I always check the major car shows (ie Detroit auto show) They offer royality free pictures of all the upcoming new cars. The images are small but if you collect all views, you can create a great collage, without destroying the quality.
etc...

I just love the "watch" feature, it's quite handy if ya like somebodies stuff. I always enjoy a nice chat, but I rarely put my messenger on. Do you ever use aim? If so, let me know and I'll send you my screen names. The odds of seeing me on aim are much better than msn!

But well worth it! The day my neighbor greg age 10, me 8 offered me 5 dollars for my vw bug with a round window in back. Hell 5 buck is alot when your 8(1972), I didn't take the money, didn't really want it, I guess it i didn't need the money or just like my vw bug better. Today its glue to my flat screen( you know the story) anyways if it was in mint condition it's value is said to be $500 or more. The referance books say any first year hotwheel is worth at least $100. And of course it sits glue to my monitor! Hey did the 56 vw have a round window?

question: what format is best to use when submitting a wallpaper
i tried to submit a wallapper of my uncles '77 grand prix as a .png, but it didnt work
and submitting is as a .jpeg just made the quality worse

I use jpg file rather than bmp. The bmp files can be quite large, that those poor dial up people rather seach more than wait to download your image(remembers the good old days) Your scanning then processing the image with what photo shop or psp?
In my experience I scan 10 to get 3-5 decent enough(thats after f**king with them for hours sometimes) to upload as wallpaper. Make sure you don't compress them too much, too. Maybe some retouching to add more depth to the colors? send me the photo if ya want and see what I can do, can't guarentee mine will be any better, but who knows.

I killed my scanner last week too. I was all too happy about it cause in the past 6 months I've gone through 17 shoe boxes of photos that covered from 1982 thru 2002. Each box had a total of no less than 1200 pix and no more 2000. With a total of over 24,000. Out of those, I scanned at least 1200 with less than half being suitable for posting as wallpaper.
