Back in 1969 Apollo 11, would of launched on it's trip to the Moon which is this weekend!To mark this event I plan to do a series, of space pictures showing the stages of the flight to the moon!

I can remember seeing the launch on a very fuzzy TV picture. I was in an area that had almost no TV reception without "creative" antenna building to catch that very low power signal. Still did see the landing!

I rarely let myself miss a lunch 
And yes, I saw all the launches that were broadcast, at least not too late. I think Apollo 15 was after 9 PM, and Mom was pretty strict about bed time for a 10-year old. If the others came in during school hours the Sisters of St. Dominic who were our teachers did put them on the classroom TV. As well as the World Series. They did like the Cardinals for some reason
Don't think many teachers would do the same thing for events today. And they don't play the World Series in the day any more
