My first DeviantArt meme. I'm not listing these gals from 1 to 10 or in any particular order, but I will rattle off why I like each of them.

Gardenia - She's so CRAZY. Whenever she sees a Grass-Type Pokémon, she'll throw herself right at it for a hug, regardless of the Trainer. She even goes out of her way to let that Pokémon attack her. Hmm, an obsession with Grass-Types? I wonder what THAT would suggest...

May - When she first came on to the show, I was disappointed that Misty was leaving (we'll get to her later), but I soon warmed up to her for her upbeat, optimistic personality and her relationship with her little brother Max. It was so cute! Not to mention she's a very good Pokemon Coordinator. I may be getting my hopes up, but I hope she at least cameos in the anime once Pokémon OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire are released!

Flannery - Every Poke-fan has said it, and I'm gonna say it too: literally the hottest Gym Leader. Her ditziness at being a noob Gym Leader makes her quite charming, and that crazy hairdo is wicked as well. And to my delight (and every other fan of hers), Nintendo actually managed to make her even MORE appealing in ORAS. Perhaps I should make up my own meme about her regarding this in the future...

Pike Queen Lucy - It's no secret that Lucy here is the most popular and the biggest favorite Frontier Brain at Hoenn's Battle Frontier. In the games, she's frightening as hell, but the anime is where she really shines. Brock falls head over heels for her on sight. And who could blame him--when you see a girl like her surrounded by the coils of Seviper and Milotic, you'd wanna slither up to her for a cuddle as well. Not to mention that Lucy is one of the VERY few girls Brock has flirted with that actually likes him back. And if you hadn't noticed, her sisters seem good-looking too. Does she keep a midriff-bearing serpentine-loving cult at her place?

Misty - Yeah, yeah, you all saw this coming. Misty was the Eve to Ash's Adam in the anime, and one of his very first traveling friends. Not only that, she SCREAMED personality. Tomboyish, independent, friendly, cheerful, overbearing, and scary when angry. Throughout the majority of her run on the show, she's been a big help to Ash's quest to be a Pokémon master--if you can overlook her criticisms of his brash actions. Her outfit was probably the most showy out of any female in the whole show, and the REALLY big thing is, she wears it even in cold weather! But hey, I guess when you train Water Pokémon 24/7, you gotta be ready in case there's swimmable water nearby. Finally, you can't really talk about Misty without acknowledging PokeShipping. Most of Ash and Misty's affections were subtle at best, but it was cute and was one of the ultimate staples--and tragedies--of the Pokémon anime.

Shauna - A one-timer--or two-timer if you count the following episode--anime character, Shauna the Battle Girl claimed she was Brawly's top apprentice and loving girlfriend, to make herself look tough to her opponents. Her personality mirrored Ash's, and when it was revealed she had been lying about her relationship with Brawly, she was quite adorable when she said, "All right, I'm going to be [his girlfriend] someday, okay?!" But you know the biggest thing about it is? Shauna and Brawly are played by Lisa Ortiz and Jason Griffith, respectively, who've played ANOTHER unrequited couple as Sonic and Amy. So yeah, this is as close as you'll get to an official Sonic X/Pokémon crossover.

Phoebe - If you hadn't noticed yet, G3 of Pokémon offered a LOT of fanservice with female Trainers' designs, like Lucy, May, Flannery, Shauna, Shelley, and of course, Phoebe. She's the only girl on my list who hasn't debuted in the anime yet, and sadly, may never will. She also has the most showy outfit out of anyone in Hoenn if you don't count the female swimmers. She looks like a Hawaiian dancer, and her skin tone is what makes her stand out well in my eyes. No doubt out of any Elite Four member, she's the most popular female. The only thing I don't get about her is her affiliation with Ghost-type Pokémon. You'd think a Ghost-type Trainer would look a little more...gothic. (Morty? Who's Morty?)

Delia - Behold,, the main starlet of most of my DeviantArt pics! She's also the only girl on the list who doesn't bare her midriff. What? Did you think I only picked these girls because their bellies were bare? Tch, how chauvinistic! Anyway, what makes Delia appealing is her view on Ash and his dream of being a Pokémon master. She loves him more than anything and supports him in everything he does, but can be a bit overbearing and overprotective, typical of the anime shonen mother. But that's part of her charm. Her innocent-like voice makes her still seem so young, and when she gets worried when Team Rocket is fighting her son, it really shows how much she really cares for his safety. I mean, you'd be worried sick too if your 10-year-old kid was braving a Crystal Tower to save you or if he's going to battle your ex-boyfriend turned Team Rocket leader. To me, Delia really personifies what every loving mother should do: if your child is growing up, believe in them see them do it with a smile.

Skyla - This may seem redundant without Elesa being on the list, but for some reason, Skyla had more appeal to me than her. Maybe because she had more personality in the games and anime than Elesa. I mean, can you imagine her frustrated face when Cedric makes Kanto and Sinnoh seem right around the corner? It's never shown, but it looks adorable in your imagination. Speaking of imagination, her concept of Air Battles in the anime may not have been looked at pretty well, but it was a great chance for As and his friends to teach her that lesson.

Jessie - Whereas Misty was the fanservice for the heroes of the show, Jessie was the fanservice for the baddies. Her personality seemed to be similar to King Dedede from Kirby: Right Back At Ya and Dr. Eggman in general. There have been times when she seems like the leader of the TRio, and that shows her assertive side, even rivaling that of Misty. Her attempts to capture our heroes' Pokémon range from facepalm bad to Eggman-like evil. I mean literally, look at half the mechas she, James and Meowth use. You'd think Eggman was volunteering part-time at Team Rocket's weapons facility! And the shenanigans Jessie gets into with her team makes her quite a hilarious villainess, especially when her Arbok or Seviper start squeezing her for some odd reason. XD What's also great about her is when her team and our heroes temporarily join hands to fight greater threats. Bottom line: No matter how many times Team Rocket blasts off in defeat, she and her cohorts never know when to quit and always come back for more, teaching just as good as Ash does, to never give up your quest.
