Drawing all of those little vertebrae must have been deliciously satisfying! I love how loose, yet controlled, your sketch lines are. Might I ask what type of pen you use?

I may have to give those a try. I normally use Copic Multiliners for the waterproof inking or the Bic or Papermate pens for the flowy inking. I'm always on the lookout for a pen with a good flow

puimun In reply to AngelaSasser [2009-05-01 16:10:22 +0000 UTC]

yeah i love these things. can only get them at japanese stationary stores, or online though.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AngelaSasser In reply to puimun [2009-05-05 14:10:50 +0000 UTC]

Ohh some good deals on ebay for these pens! Thanks for pointing me in their direction. I'm really loving the range of colors that they're available in. It looks like they're ok to color copic marker over, but do you think they can withstand watercolors? So far it seems like they can, but I'm curious if you have tried this.

And randomly, thanks for replying to my commentary! I know how busy things are

puimun In reply to AngelaSasser [2009-05-05 15:09:52 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I use them with watercolors sometimes. If you paint directly after using it before it has a chance to dry, you can get it to bleed a bit and get some really bright hues.

Interesting juxtaposition
Just for fun:
It was already commented about the whole Pandora/Eve (Chava) thing - what struck me first was the two pillars behind, which could refer to Gemini (corresponding to The Lovers card), which is reinforced by the presence of the monkey offering fruit. The monkey could be Thoth (aka Mercury, ruling Gemini), offering knowledge - not only as the tempting error which caused the whole "Fall", but also as the solution. Standing on the back of the decomposing serpent suggests so many things - particulary that which truly ends innocence - the knowledge of death. Coming full circle, the box would of course contain the last demon, Epis, or 'hope', which is the usual fall back when confronted by the moral warfare of good and evil that arises from the first stages of sentient awareness. Blah.
Very fluid.
