Well, this is a project that even though it seemed like it took forever (About 100 hours) I loved doing it, and I love the way it came out!! I made this for a 2008 Halloween party, and plan on taking it to Comic-con this year!
dressed as Cloud of course. My best friend FOG will be dressed as TIFA...yea!! *Happy* I made this out of just junk leftover wood from the garage. Didn't have to buy much, Hex head bolts, and some metallic paint! Just took an eternally to finish.
Made of wood and metal. Weighs in at 8 pounds, and I love this thing to death...LOL

Dude, can you write a walk-through of how you made it? Seriously, I'm going crazy. How do you fit the dowel inside the sword, even with the holes?? [link]

I drilled a 1 inch hole about 3 inches deep and wood glued the 1 inch dowel inside. Wood glue is super strong.

This is simply amazing my man. I'm currently drawing up plans for my cosplay costume. I'm stumped on the handle however. everything else is worked out I just can't find a good way to mount one. how did you do yours and with what material. looks like pvc... but that stumps me all the more.

The handle? It's all wood. I believe it was a 1 inch wood dowel. It's wrapped with nylon and colored red. Then I put a couple of coats of wood glue to finish it off.
Are you making your weapon out of wood or is it foam? If you have a picture, it might help me some? I'll try to help if I can!

wow it looks so cool, i bought a real sword replica but traded it ^^: worst mistake ever think of your sword all metal with a leather handle it was HEAVY i want it back now i might trade my cuz back he wants his guitar back so bad lol
