I feel empty inside. My chest aches. Is it okay for me to feel like this... or am I just being selfish?

Lapis Lazuli has been gone for who knows how long. She told me she was going to visit the Earth to see the ocean. She didn't know how much time she would take, but I told her it was okay. As long as she came back.

She didn't.

Days come and go. I can no longer tell how much time it has been.

I always keep a diamond communicator by my side. I use it everyday, sometimes more than once a day. I keep my hopes up, even if I never get a response back. Sometimes I lose the motivation to try and reach out. I make myself anyway. That's what you do when you love someone so much.

I stopped caring one day. Although, I did care enough to keep Lapis in my thoughts. I saw her beautiful face when I closed my eyes. Her gentle voice hummed in my ears. I held my own hand at times, pretending it was hers.

I am about to cry. But suddenly I come to a halt. I see something flashing from the corner of my eye. There's no way...

The clear diamond resting in my palms turns into a faint blue. It is a very soft hue, like the pearl of Blue Diamond. Then it stops.

I stare at it. It stays the same. I stare at the gem even longer.

I give up. That's it. What more can I possibly do?

Lapis never came back... maybe I belong on Earth too?

It doesn't feel right to leave Homeworld. I want to stay here. It doesn't feel right without Lapis Lazuli. I want her to come back. It doesn't feel right to go to Earth. But maybe, just maybe, going to Earth is the right feeling. I close my eyes and step on the Warp Pad.

Is this... the ocean? This vast, blue mass sparkles like Lapis' wings. It's absolutely beautiful. But is she in there? I step closer. It is so spacious... where do I begin looking?

"Lapis?"

I look to my right. I look to my left. It's so quiet.

"Lapis?"

"... __________?"

"L-Lapis?"

"__________!"

I can't tell where she is, not even the direction of her voice. "Lapis, where are you?"

Woah.

A huge wave appears, tons of water cascading all around. Then it splits in half. Lapis stands in the middle. She steps out of the tunnel she made, the wave collapsing behind her.

"Lapis!"

I run up to her and embrace her tightly. I missed her smell, her warmth, Lapis herself. Her slender figure makes me want to hold her forever and never let go. I run my hands through her hair and stroke her gemstone with the tips of my fingers. It's shattered...?

"What happened to your gem?" I ask. Lapis picks something up from the ground. It's an old, rusted mirror.

"I was trapped in there. I don't remember how, but when I was freed, my gem was shattered. I was trapped in there for so long... And now I'm broken."

"That's why you never came back. You can't fly."

"__________, do you even love me anymore? I can't believe I let this happen to myself. I should've listened to you. I should've just stayed home with you."

"Lapis... there's nothing in this universe that can make me stop loving you."

...

"Now, do you want to go back to Homeworld?"

Lapis shakes her head. She takes my hand in hers. "Well now that you're here... I'll show you what home is like."
