A sneak peak at my steampunk inspired goggles that I plan to wear at a Christmas masquerade ball. I'm new to steampunk but I find it a very interesting subculture. The mask isn't too tacky is it? I added the monocle chain to make it extra fancy

I made this mask because I wanted to be able to wear my glasses underneath it. I didn't want to compromise on this point but it was hard to come up with a structure that would be stable and comfortable enough. Hence the uninspired, plastic safety glass frame. At least this feels very comfortable and allows me to see!

For a budget piece, I'm happy! The only thing I had to go out and buy was the small package of Sculpey clay ($2), of which I used less than a 1/4 of. I made the gears out of it. The eye piece was part of a broken binocular.
