Quicksilver has been my most well-known, popular and favourite cosplay ever since I first put it together. With the latest movie now out, I just had to put together an Apocalypse style upgrade for it. Especially as I love this new eighties based outfit even more!

Very amateur shot with the naff background and boring pose, but I just wanted something that shows off the whole outfit well now that I've finally put it together. Only took just over a month to get everything sorted Literally the only thing I kept from my Days of Future Past cosplay was the trainers, which I had to re-lace back to the original silver laces that they came with, since I had to lace them with blue ones for the DoFP outfit (so glad I kept both colours!)

This cosplay's also had me getting very creative as I kept having problems upon receiving various things that I'd ordered. The main problems were with the wig, which was advertised as silver/grey and even looked it in the pictures online, but when it came it was white. And then the goggles, which came with very dark sunglasses lenses, even though they were advertised as a smoky tint and looked much lighter.

Since the wig was actually pretty cheap and wouldn't have been worth the shipping costs to send back and exchange (especially if I got another one that was wrong) I had a look online at how to dye a wig, then ordered myself some copic ink and sat down and dyed it last Friday. First time attempting anything remotely like that, so I was seriously pleased how it turned out!

As for the lenses, I read online that you could lighten any plastic or polycarbonate lenses by soaking them in a mixture of bleach and water. Tried that and it didn't work. Tried leaving them in pure bleach for two days and it still didn't work xD So I ended up taking some spare hard but blendy plastic from work, cutting my own lenses and colouring them just a slightly darker shade with my markers. Actually worked a treat! This cosplay stuff has me getting all craftsy

Will try and do a better shoot as soon as I get chance (and it's not meltingly hot in all that leather!)
