I love unconventional self portraits, I done one once that represented my state of mind at a particular time. It was pretty grim but interesting. I love this piece

Wow.. I'm suprised nobody gave you a hard time for this one! I looks great, man! Excellent use of light and shadow to define the body.. And real blood, eh? *lol* Well, whatever floats your boat.. I'm too much of a wuss to try and hurt myself to where I bleed over anything, let alone art.. O.o;;

and as far as no one giving me a hard time over this one... that couldn't be any farther from the truth. I almost got shot by a hispanic kid who saw me walking to my class with this thing. Needless to say...he was less than amused

I dont remmeber ever seeing this piece. I really like it the use of harsh lights and deep darks works great for you like jon said your true self seems to come out as you paint. Keep um coming

Why? Is that the modesty you were talking about? I'm always wary of people who compare themselves to Christ.
The face and torso are extraordinary, but it seems like proportion and perspective kinda walked out the door inre: the arms. I repeat, I fucking love the face. Top notch. The whole composition is striking; I dig the heavy centered bias.

acrylic.. and... blood??? sure looks like blood but I wasn't too sure... your blood sure looks red after its dried tho..... maybe u got a lot of haemoglobins.. or something...
I'm guessing the frame has a bit of blood mixed in it too.....
this is kinda.... I dont know....
becoz I did a painting with my own blood once... (anda lot of it..... ).... just.. not a very happy time for me.....
this piece.... makes my heart sink and ache... perhaps due to the resemblence to my own piece... although they dont look alike at all... but the same feeling and essence is present...

I like this painting, and you said it's blood? Yikes, i am afraid of seeing blood, it scares me because i had an accident once and saw too many of my own blood. The composition on this is very nice, dark with a white shirt to have the eyes focus yet wandering all over the canvas.
