Chapter 5 - La Salle Academy: Lunchtime in The Garden
“Daichi!” said an excited Kio as she ran up to hug him as he was walking towards her. “Hey, what’s up?” he said as he hugged her back. “Well, I’ve been reading this book about vampires and we really do seem interesting!” she said as she took his hand and went to the bench to sit. “Yea, we really are interesting aren’t we?” “Definitely! Sometimes I wonder if it’s better to be a vampire than a human…” “Well, you did live most of your life thinking that you were a human but now that you know that you’re really a vampire, what do you think?” “What do I think?…well…I think that as long as I have you, I’m alright.” said Kio as she caressed his face then kissed him. “That’s a really good answer.” said Daichi as he kissed her back as well. Kio then pulled back and Daichi asked “What happened?” “Nothing…” “Come on. Tell me what it is. I can see it on your face.” “Daichi…do you know what my parents look like?” “No. But I know two people who might know what they look like.” “Who?!” “Your Aunt and Uncle.”

Kio’s House - After School
“Aunt Karin! Uncle Senji!” shouted Kio while scurrying around the house looking for her aunt and uncle. Daichi was also helping her look for them as well. “Yes Kio!” said Karin as she came downstairs. “Oh Aunt Karin, what happened to you?” asked Kio. “Nothing. Your Uncle and I have been arguing quite a bit lately…” “About what?” “Oh, nothing to be concerned about.” “Really? Are you sure?” “Yes I am. Now what’s the problem?” “Well…Daichi thinks that you and Uncle Senji may know what my parents look like. Do you?” “Well of course. Your mom and I are sisters anyways and we both loved to take pictures with our husbands. I think we may have one from the time when you were born at the hospital.” said Karin as she was going through some boxes. “Oh, here it is.” she said as she handed the picture to Kio. “Wow…you look so cute and adorable Kio.” said Daichi. “Thanks. But really I do. You can even see that I have the same eyes and nose. My hair looks more brown in this one though. Maybe it just changed colour as I was growing.” “Everyone wanted to hold you.” said Karin.

As Kio kept on gazing at the picture, she went to sit down at the table while Daichi followed her. “Well, I’ll leave the both of you alone while I go upstairs.” “Ok Aunt Karin. Be careful.” “Thank you.”

“Wow…I can’t believe how beautiful my mom is and how handsome my dad is.”

“Well, I can definitely see where you get your looks from.” said Daichi as he leaned in to kiss her. Suddenly, they heard a loud bang coming from upstairs. “What was that?”asked Daichi. “I don’t know but I got a bad feeling about this. Let’s go check.” said Kio as both she and Daichi ran up the stairs. The noise was coming from Aunt Karin and Uncle Senji’s room. “SHUT UP! YOU WILL NOT SPEAK TO ME THAT WAY YOU LOW LIFE VAMPIRE!” shouted Senji from the other side of the door. Next thing they heard was Karin screaming for her life. “STOP IT! I’M SORRY! PLEASE DON’T HURT ME!”

“We have to stop him! I can’t let him hurt my Aunt like that!” shouted Kio as tears began to come from her eyes. Daichi then knocked down the door and Kio rushed in to help her Aunt. “Uncle Senji! How could you do something like this!” “I’m sorry Kio. I just lost my temper.” “Your temper?! This doesn’t even look like you lost your temper! You tried to hurt Aunt Karin! I could never forgive you for this!” as Kio and Daichi helped her Aunt to stand up and helped her walk out of the room.” “You will never know where your parents are Kio. I’m the only one who knows exactly where they are and you’ll have to defeat me! Defeat me! The one, true, strong vampire of all vampires to know where your parents are! But for now, they’re my little hostages.” thought Senji.

“Kio, go help your Aunt downstairs. I’m going to talk to Mr. Hamasaki.” “Ok.” Daichi then went back into the room to talk to Senji. “Mr. Hamasaki, from what just happened, I assume that both you and Mrs. Hamasaki were arguing about whether or not you should tell Kio about her parents. And I’m also assuming that you know exactly where they are but you haven’t told your wife as yet. Am I not correct?”

“Daichi…you really got something from your mother.”

“That’s not what I asked.”

“Yes. I do know exactly where Kio’s parents are. I’m holding them hostage for what they both did. But you can’t tell Kio this. Whenever she finds out that I have something to do with her parents “death”, then she’ll have to defeat me when she’s at her breaking point. And at that time, she won’t have the courage to defeat her own blood and flesh.”

“We’ll see about that. And I will tell Kio about this. She deserves to know this. I can’t risk losing her again.”

“Losing her again? We all know what happened that day. That’s why you want to be by her side all the time. And if you think that you have the guts to tell Kio about our little conservation then you have another thing coming. I’ll be watching you. The both of you I should say. And also my own wife. Now, get your filthy self out of my face.”

Daichi then walked to the door but before he walked out, he said “This is far from over.”

“Aunt Karin, are you okay?”

“Yes Kio. Thank you.”

“I still can’t believe that Uncle Senji would really do this to you. Why were you two even arguing? Was it about me?”

“No. Just ordinary stuff.”

“Well this isn’t ordinary. He almost hit you right before we came in.”

“I know. I just…don’t know how to stop him. I mean, one minute we’re fine and then the next minute he’s out of control.” she said as a pool of tears started coming from her eyes.

“Well, I don’t know what to do. For now, we need to keep you some where safe where he won’t harm you.”

“Thank you Kio, but where? How could I possibly escape him?” Then, Daichi was downstairs, walking up to Karin and Kio. “You could possibly stay at my house Mrs. Hamasaki.”

“Oh Daichi…thank you but no thanks. I’d be too much of a problem.”

“No it’s okay. I can ask my parents if you could stay in the guest room.”

“But what about Kio? I couldn’t bear to let her stay here by herself.”

“Well, there should be another guestroom in the house so she could stay there.”

“Oh thank you Daichi!” said Kio as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

“I suppose you’re dating my niece?”

“Well…not really. We’ve just become close friends. That’s all.”

“I see.”

“Well you two should start packing your stuff and in the meanwhile, I’ll call my parents and if they say yes then I’ll get a limo to pick us up.”

“But I can’t go back into the room. And if he sees me going for my suitcase then he’ll be suspicious.”

“Oh that’s true Aunt Karin. I know what we can do!”

“And what would that be Kio?”

“You can borrow some of my clothes until we buy some new ones for you.”

“But I can’t fit into your clothes. And especially because I don’t wear those kind of things.”

“Of course you can fit into my clothes! We’re the same size you know.”

“And how do you know that?”

“I’ve raided your closet once…”

“Oh. I see. No wonder. Well, fine.”

“Okay! I’ll go and get my stuff packed then!”

The next 10 minutes after that, Kio came back downstairs packed with about 2 medium sized suitcases and a large bag that she just threw in her makeup and accessories. “Alright let’s go.” said Kio. Luckily, Daichi’s parents were okay with the situation and also lucky for them Senji was fast asleep so he didn’t hear a thing.

Daichi’s Mansion
“We are so sorry to hear about your situation Karin.” said Mr. Keiya.

“Oh no problem. But thank you so much for letting us stay here in the mean time.”

“It’s no problem at all. And plus, you and Kio are like family to us. So please, make yourself at home.” said Mrs. Keiya.

Mrs. Keiya then led Karin to her room while Daichi led Kio to hers. Once Daichi and Kio were inside the room, he locked the door and grabbed Kio close to him that she could hear his heart beat rapidly. “Daichi, what’s the problem?”

“Nothing. I just want to hold you close to me. Kio, I will never let anyone hurt you.”

“I know that. You know how many times you’ve told me that already.”

“I know. But I can’t stop saying it. It’s like by saying it countless times is not enough. I want to show you how much you mean to me…” He then started kissing down her neck as he got closer to her chest. “Daichi…we can’t…not here…” said Kio between breaths. Daichi then stopped and asked, “Well what is it?”

“It’s nothing. I really do want to do it with you Daichi but not like this. I want it to be filled with passion and love and for us to do it where we feel most comfortable.”

“Don’t we have love and passion?”

“Yes. Yes we do but I want the both of us to be only thinking of that and not just a night full of sex or that you’ll be the one to take my virginity. No, not like that.”

“I see. I understand what you mean. And where would you want us to do it then?”

“I’m not sure as yet. I was thinking of either the bed or on one of your cute beanie bag seats.”

“Wow…the beanie bag…what an unusual place.”

“I know right! But that’s what I mean about what I said earlier.”

“Oh ok. Well the beanie bag does sound unique.” he said as Kio got up to go lie down on the queen size bed. He got up as well and followed her to the bed where he then pulled her panty from under her school skirt and said, “But we can do other things right?” as he slowly fingered her. She then tried to get up but was stopped as Daichi kissed her again and was now on top of her. He then placed both of his hands on top of hers pinning her down to the bed as he kissed her even more passionately by the second. Before they knew it, Kio was sleeping soundly on the bed while Daichi went to the bathroom. He took off his school uniform leaving only his black, red and white plaid boxer shorts. “I will not forgive you Senji. For what you did to my family, and now what you’re doing to Kio, her parents and her Aunt. I will never, ever forgive you!” he thought while staring at his reflection in the mirror. He then went back to bed to sleep at Kio’s side so that he could protect her. “You have no idea how much you mean to me Kio. You have to learn the truth one day. About your parents, your Uncle Senji, and about us. There’s more to us than you know. That’s why we’re so close. And I want to be the one to tell you everything.” he thought as he brushed through her hair.
