Chapter 6 - The Secret

Akane’s House
Akane was in her dark bedroom lying down on her bed, thinking about what happened between her and Naoki the other night. “Why did it have to happen again…” she thought. She tossed and turned on her bed as tears began to fill her eyes. “But I love him…” she thought. She then got up and went to the bathroom. She looked at her reflection in the mirror thinking of the many thoughts that raced through her mind. “Great. I’ve ruined my makeup again today…” thought Akane. RINNNGGG! “Oh the doorbell. But who would be coming here?…” said Akane as she raced to reach the door.

When she opened it, she couldn’t believe who it was. “Hi Akane.” said the person.

“Hey…”

“Are you ok?”

“Yea…”

“Can I come in?”

“Sure. No one’s home anyways.”

“Thanks.” said the person as they walked inside the great mansion.

“What do you want? You shouldn’t even be here Naoki.”

“I know. But I just wanted to see you…”

“After what happened the other night?…”

“It shouldn’t have happened…”

Akane felt as if a sharp spear had pierced right through her heart. She couldn’t believe what Naoki just said. Suddenly, Naoki felt a sharp slap across his face. He was astonished at what Akane had just done.

“What was that for?”

“You have no idea how I feel!” said Akane as she was storming off but Naoki grabbed her arm and pulled her in close to him.

“Akane, what’s wrong? What did I do?”

All Akane could do was cry her heart out. “You don’t understand how I feel Naoki!”

“Then make me understand.”

“I can’t…”

“You have to. If you want me to understand then you have to tell me.”

“Then let’s go out to the backyard by the river and I’ll tell you…”

They both then walked to the back of the house to go sit by the river. That’s where they both usually went to be alone. That has been their spot since they were kids.

Daichi’s Mansion - Kio’s Room
“Daichi stop!” said Kio as she was being killed with tickles from him. She kept on laughing til she almost pissed herself. Daichi then finally stopped tickling her and allowed her to get up from the dark cyan blue beanie bag seat.

“Daichi why would you do something like that! You know how much I‘m ticklish!” said Kio as she tried to keep in her laughter.

“And that makes it all the better to do it.”

“Hahaha. Very funny.”

“So. What do you feel like doing today?”

“I don’t know. What about you?”

“I don’t know either.”

“Hmm…how about going into the pool?”

“Nah…maybe the jacuzzi. Sounds better…and then maybe I could get a little peek…” said Daichi as he tried to peek into Kio’s dark gray, baggy t-shirt.

“Heyyy!! What you trying to do perve!” said Kio as she covered herself, trying to prevent Daichi from seeing anything.

“I don’t see what’s the problem. You’ve let me see it before. And, I’m not a perve. I’m just being a guy.”

“Haha. I know but it’s just that I don’t want you to see it yet. Not until I look sexy enough for you.”

“Kio…”

“Yea.”

“You’re not sexy. You’re beautiful. You’re more than beautiful actually. So much more that I can’t even put a word on you.”

“Daichi…that’s so sweet!” said Kio as she kissed him on the cheek, then slowly moved down to his neck. Her eyes turned blood red as she bit into his neck. At the same time, Daichi’s eyes also turned blood red and he bit into Kio’s neck as well. They both were enjoying each other’s blood. After a while, they stopped and then looked deep into each other’s eyes and kissed.

“Now tell me what’s going on Akane. Please.” said Naoki as they both sat down on the large, violet comforter that was placed by the river.

“Alright…Well, the thing is that I really do love you Naoki. I always have but I’ve been declining that fact since we were kids.”

“I see…”

“That’s all you have to say after I just practically confessed my feelings for--” but she was stopped by Naoki’s passionate kiss.

“Na…Naoki…”

“Shhh. I’m trying to confess my feelings for you.” said Naoki as he continued to passionately kiss Akane all over her face and neck. He wanted to go further so he stopped and looked deep into her eyes and asked, “Can I?…” She nodded very happily as tears of joy began to fall. They were now lying down on the comforter, Naoki on top as they both embraced each other with all their soul.

“Akane…I love you. I always have. You should know that.” he said as he entered her. Once they were finish, they stayed there, lying down next to each other on the warm comforter.

Kio was on top of Daichi on the bed kissing all over his face, neck and toned abs.

“Kio…what happened to you? Why are you like this?…”

“Don’t you like it Daichi? Don’t you feel good?” she said in her sultry voice. They rolled over and Daichi was now on top of her as he said in his sexy voice, “Of course I do.”

He was now kissing all over her body. She also had on her black fishnet stockings but they were now ruined by Daichi biting into them, making larger holes. He continued kissing her all over as he pulled off her stockings.

“Daichi…I’m ready…”

He then slowly pulled off all of her undergarments while she pulled off his dark cyan blue and white plaid boxers. He then entered her as she said, “I love you Daichi.” “I love you too Kio.”

Downstairs, Karin and Daichi’s mother, Aya were still baking from morning. They were baking a double chocolate tiramisu cake, double layered French vanilla cake with fluffy white whipped icing in the middle, chocolate chunk cookies, strawberry cheesecake, and they had also made chocolate caramels.

“So Aya, how has Daichi been since his reunion with Kio?” asked Karin.

“Oh he’s been better than ever. Before he saw Kio again, it was like he was in a deep sadness because he didn’t see her ever since he was 7 years old. And now that they’re back together, he never stops talking about her.”

“That’s great. Have you and your husband made any plans for the marriage yet?”

“No not yet. We need to talk to Daichi about it. He already knows that ever since she was 3 and Daichi was 4, we made plans with Kio’s parents to have an arranged marriage for them since they seemed attracted to each other from they very first day they met each other. We told him when he was 7 but he didn‘t seem too happy about the news because of Kio‘s sudden disappearance at the time.”

“Oh, I see.”

“Yea. But the thing is, Kio’s parents couldn’t tell her about the arranged marriage because they had died before we all could tell both she and Daichi at the same time when Kio would be 6 and Daichi was 7.”

“That’s so sad. But Aya, there’s something you should know…”

“What is it Karin?”

“Well, Kio’s parents are actually alive.”

“They are?!? Why didn’t you tell me this earlier?!”

“Because Senji threatened to harm me if I told anyone!”

“Oh my Karin. I feel so sorry for you. I don’t know how you put up with that man.”

“I know. That’s why I’m thinking of leaving him since we’re not legally married.”

“Oh you two weren’t legally married? Wow…”

“Yea we aren’t. But I have a strange feeling that Senji is hiding something about Kio from me…”

“Oh really? Have you asked him about it?”

“Yea I have but then he loses control and starts to try and hit me.”

“Oh. That’s sad. But truly, I want to know what really happened to Kio’s parents since they’re alive. Do you know where they are?”

“No I don’t sadly. If I did, Kio would be the first one to know.”

“Definitely. Poor girl. She only has memories of her parents and for the past 10 years, she hasn’t seen them.”

“I know. And sometimes I hate the fact that I had to go through 8 years pretending to be her mother because Senji told me to.”

“Senji…told you?”

“Yea. Why?”

“Because it seems to me that he’s telling you to do certain things that will prevent Kio from finding out about her parents.”

“You know…when you think about it, it really does sound like it.”

“Karin, you have to confront him about it. My husband and I will come along as well in case anything bad breaks out.”

“Ok. But still…it could be true. Senji could be hiding something…”

“Hiding what?” asked Kio as she and Daichi walked into the kitchen full of desserts.

“Oh Kio, Daichi…”

“Aunt Karin, you were saying that Uncle Senji could be hiding something. What could he possibly be hiding?”

“Information about your parents…”

Kio’s eyes widened as she heard the news. “Kio, there’s something else you should know…” said Aya.

“What is it?” asked Daichi.

“It’s about you and Kio.” Daichi knew exactly what his mother was talking about.

“Mom, I think I should be the one to tell Kio this.”

“Daichi…what is it?”

“Well, Kio. I should’ve told you this from before but…the both of us…we’ve known each other from when you were 3 and I was 4. You might not remember anything about our friendship when we were kids but we were extremely close. We were even attracted to each other when we first met. And so our parents planned an arranged marriage for us whenever we want to have the wedding. But…when you suddenly disappeared like that…it felt like someone had stabbed my heart. And after all those years not seeing you…I began to go into a deep sadness. So that’s why I was so happy after I saw you again in The Garden at school.”

Kio was still in a shocked mood. It was going to take her some time for her to process this new information about her life. “So, you waited until now to tell me this? Why? You promised you wouldn’t keep anything else from me!” said Kio as she started to cry again.

“I’m sorry Kio. I never wanted to keep it from you but I had to wait until the right time to tell you. It’s not like I could just tell you the first time we met again after all those years apart. You have no idea how much it hurt me inside to not see your beautiful face for 10 years.” said Daichi as the pain and memories of those years apart from Kio started to rush through his mind.

Kio then went up to Daichi and hugged him as she continued to cry. “Do you still want to know about what I said about Uncle Senji?” asked Karin.

“No. It’s ok Aunt Karin. But can me and Daichi be alone for a moment?”

“Sure.” Karin and Aya took their slices of cake and a few cookies before they left the kitchen.

“Daichi…”

“Yes Kio?”

“I love you. I truly do. And I’m happy that you told me about our close friendship. No wonder I felt so close to you when we first met again.”

“I know you love me. And I love you as well. I never dated any other girl during those 10 years you were gone because I knew you would come back some day. And now that you’re in my arms again, this time, it’ll never end, and I’ll hold you forever.”

“I know you will.”

“Oh. There’s something else you should know. It’s about your Uncle Senji and your parents.”

“What is it? Is it true about what Aunt Karin said about him hiding something?”

“Yes. But I think I should tell your Aunt Karin and my mom as well. So I’ll call them back into the kitchen.”

“Ok.”

Daichi then went to call back Karin and Aya into the kitchen to tell them the truth about Uncle Senji.

“Daichi. What happened?” asked Aya.

“It’s about Senji…”

“Oh. What is it then?” asked Karin.

“What you said earlier about how you think he’s hiding something about Kio’s parents…well it’s true. He told me himself the other night we were there.”

“Oh my goodness…” said Karin and Aya simultaneously.

“What did he say Daichi?” asked Kio.

“He said that they’re alive but he’s holding them hostage.”

“WHAT?!” shouted Kio as she began to feel enraged with anger.

“And he’s the only one who knows where they are. Also, he was the one who told them to send Kio to that particular village since he already knew it was going to be attacked by vampires. They had no choice but to do it. And even when he and Karin found Kio on the streets, it was because he already knew where she was from the time of the attack up to when he found her. It wasn’t because Kio’s parents told you two where to find her. He knew exactly where she was the whole time. So, Karin, your husband has been only telling you a part of the truth but he’s been lying the rest.”

“Oh, sorry not to spoil the news, but Senji isn’t legally my husband…” said Karin.

“He isn’t?!” said Kio and Daichi simultaneously.

“No, he isn’t. We’re not legally married.”

“Ohh, I see.” said Kio.

“Did he tell you where he’s keeping them hostage and why?” asked Aya.

“No, he didn’t tell me where but he said that they’re locked up in some castle, some where in the hills. And why he’s keeping them hostage, he said it was because of what they did to him which I have no idea what he meant by that.”

“I see.” said Aya.

“How could he do something like this?!” said Kio as she cried even harder and went to Daichi to be comforted.

“I think I may know why he’s keeping them hostage…” said Karin.

“Why?” asked Kio.

“I think it might be because of my father’s decision a long time ago…” said Daichi.

“What decision?” asked Kio.

“To not make Senji CEO of his company. And so maybe he wanted to destroy both families by holding your parents hostage, and hurting both you and me in the process. He even almost tried to destroy my father’s company.”

“Wow…he really went that far?” asked Karin, not knowing what her “husband” was capable of.

“Yes he did. And I vowed to get revenge for what he did to both of our families.” said Daichi.

“I want revenge too. After what he’s doing to my parents…I will defeat him.” said Kio as her eyes glowed a bright lilac colour.

“Let’s hope you can Kio. Because he wants you to fight him. And if you defeat him, he said he would tell you where your parents are.” said Daichi.

“I don’t believe him anymore. That so called “uncle” of mine is now capable of doing anything. So we have to be careful. And I don’t need him to tell me where my parents are. I can find them on my own.”

“Oh. That reminds me. He also said that if I told anyone about this, that I would have to face the consequences…”

“Are you serious?!” asked a very worried and concerned Aya.

“Yes. But I’m not afraid of him. I couldn’t take losing Kio again if I had kept this from her.”

Kio started to blush as she heard this though she already knew Daichi felt that way about her.

“No Senji! We will not agree to that!” stated the man in the room.

“Alright then. Have it your way. Your daughter’s life will be even more miserable!”

“No! Please don’t do anything to harm her! Please Senji! We just want our daughter back!” shouted the woman that was sitting beside the man.

“Now, now. Kaori and Tohru, you should know better than that. Now, why would I want to harm my own niece…” said Senji with an evil look on his face.
