Hasbro owns both the Transformers and Star Wars toylines, though, so it's much more logical to assume Disney would throw JJ and Michael Bay into a room together until they figure something out that'd be marketable, and cut out any third parties from making a dime

I bet that they would instead try and write another Cloverfield sequel, this time with Clover's mother, and it would end with her being nuked.
Also, why do you mention Hasbro? Pacific Rim was made by Warner (and is now owned by Universal, who unlike Disney could buy Fox and not end in bankruptcy, what with Jurassic Park, F&F, Minions...). The real question is: will Universal finally make a movie of Battlestar Galactica (1978, we miss it) about the 1000 Yahren War?
