Description
Experimenting with a Nikon D5000, which is much more advanced than the Powershot that I'm used to... I would have preferred it to have come out crisper but I still hope you like it

I love the contrast! The red petals are beautiful, if MAYBE a tad over saturated. But they really stand out nicely. I disagree when you say you wanted it crisper. I think the focus is just right the way it is... any crisper and you may run into noise problems.
The background might be a little busy but I do like the blacks and grays so I can't fully decide on if I would change that or not. I did notice that just above the petals to the left of the stem, part of your background is red! That's an easy fix in an editing program though
Again, really nice work on this! Love the angle you shot it at and how you used your space in the frame!

I hope you dont kill me i was about to instant fave your work lol but i am not good with giving meaningful comments but let' see. I think it's bit depressing but dramatic and mysterious! I am not sure the red colour seems too much saturation or is it just me(maybe my compueter screen) but interesting approach! Great choice of colors against the grayscale background
Out of curiosity, did you use the HDR?
On the other side of my note It seems to "first romance" at first glance in my opinion! Thanks for sharing.
