Meet Kieran (black) and Yuki (white), our two newest rescues!

Kieran's story is like that of so many others. He was born at a roadside attraction where people could pay to pet and hold him. Sadly, he was taken away from his mother at only a few days old (a standard practice for wolf and wolfdog breeders) so that he would only "imprint" on people. Once he was 6 weeks old he was sold for $2000. After only a few days, his new owner realized that a wolf pup was a difficult pet and reached out to us for help. After the passing of our beloved Skye, we had a spot for him and took him in. He is now a few months old and is thriving.

Yuki's story is heartbreaking. After having already been through a couple owners, she was eventually placed with someone who kept her in a small crate packed with other dogs. Presumably due to the stress of being in such a confined space, Yuki lost most of her fur. When animal control threatened to confiscate Yuki, her owner reached out to us. Our precious Ahote had passed a few weeks prior, leaving a spot open for her. As you can see, her fur is growing back and she is a surprisingly confident and affectionate girl!
