Great title, that's worthy of praise on it's own.
The composition feels unbalanced, like it's too weighted towards the right of the frame. I think the group of matches should be closer the centre, with the single match closer to the left edge.

I disagree with the first statement. I like the shadows setup like they are. Very unique idea...couldn't see the wax until the question was asked (and thank you for the answer!). It's still not noticable.

Cool idea and conception. The idea of being isolated due to differences is carried out very well here. I do love how the unlit matches look like they are conspiring in the corner is brilliant. Truly one of the best qualities in this image. Lighting is alittle off, but, that's just a nitpick.

I know how that match feels right about now. I like the concept, it's a very brainy Photo. I guess you can see they are glued but thats not really a bad thing. you wouldn't notice it unless someone read your comments first or looked at the full view. I enjoy looking at the shadows on the wall. In a way it looks like the group of matches are shunning the burnt match.

Love the personification you captured here.
The slightly bent tip of the burnt match really makes it work.
Great!

really good idea. I like all the ideas this photo makes the viewer think of. I dunno if that made sense, but I was just doing a project in my graphic design class about focal points and I was thinking of doing something like this, not with matches, but just isolating something and then having a group of something else. Anyways, nice work, I like the concept =]

I really like this concept, it's really unique. The red matches are all huddled together, it seems like they're whispering about the 'used' match. The title, goes excellently with this pic, well done!

exactly. i realize that this picture has more of a cowering look to the group of matches then i intended, makign the burnt one look scary to some, but "used and abandoned by the crowd" is exactly what i wanted. thanks.

super glue and patience. i basically put a drop of gel glue on the ends of eth matches, held them in palce till they stuck, then cleaned up the bases of extra glue. then i put the upright matches into a little diaramma of sorts...a shoebox lined in white.
i had time on my hands, hehe
