Story fan-fic concept: Project MANA

Premise:
In a world, where magic is fact, not fiction, Super-powered villans are appearing all over the world (oh my!).
As a result, some of the biggest & Best magi and sorcerers decide to form an Academy to train youths born with the gift to harness the forces of Mana, (the ability to use magic), to combat the coming darkness and keep the peace. Kind of like the Green Lantern Corps but using magic instead of a Power-Ring.
But these youths aren't the wizards 'n' warlocks you're thinking of, no wands & staffs here! ...well...maybe a few, depends on the student really, anyway, these students are more akin to Super-Heroes then witches & wizards.

This story in particular focuses on a Lad by the name of Byaku Yakate, who has recently discovered that he has the ability to use magic, specifically, fire magic! meaning he belongs to the Pyrus school of magic. There are many different types of magic, ranging from controlling the very earth, Geomancy, to having complete mastery over machines/weapons, Technomancy, I'll go more in-depth later, anyway, the story focuses on Byaku's story of going through training and doing classes at the "Heroes Academy of Peace", his eventual graduation into a fully-fledged Hero, and beyond.
